Rand Avenue, Waikiki, City of Rockingham

Fantasy Park at Waikiki is a large accessible park with plenty of play areas for kids to explore, a sensory garden with animal sculptures, a dog friendly park and also the home to Rockingham’s only disc golf course.

It felt like we were walking into a fortress at first.

There are two playgrounds located near the entrance, just alongside one another. Both playgrounds have ramps, which make them accessible and toddler-friendly. The floors of both playgrounds are foam-cushioned.

There are various play elements in the playgrounds for the kids to play.

Large animal sculptures were scattered around the park, making it interesting for the kids to explore. I must admit that the sculptures looked a little worn down over time, but that didn’t stop the kids from climbing onto them and having fun.

There’s a crocodile in a pretend pond, too!

The girls found a tunnel to play hide and seek!

There is a sand play pit with swings.

Remember to bring a couple of Frisbees when you are here to try out the disc golf course! It is played like golf but using a flying disc (like a Frisbee) instead. The goal is to get the disc into the basket with the fewest throws.

This disc golf course has nine baskets and 18 tee pads.

It was new to the kids, and they thought it was exciting and fun. It was a challenge trying to get the disc into one of these baskets!

There are huge fields for kids to run around and kick a football. Just be cautious, as it is a dog-friendly park. There were quite a few dogs off-leash while we were there.

There is a smallish basketball court and netball ring as well.

There is a sensory garden in the middle of the park.

It is a good place for playdates and birthday parties, with plenty of undercover areas and BBQ facilities. Water fountains are available, and the toilets are clean.
