Taarak Park in Allara Estate, Eglinton, is a much-loved local favourite for northern suburbs families, especially those with energetic kids who love to climb and explore. Set within a growing residential area, the park has a modern, vibrant feel and plenty of equipment to keep a mix of ages entertained, all wrapped around a striking central play tower.

The star of the park is that tall play tower, which immediately grabs kidsโ attention. Itโs packed with fun elements such as bridges, tunnels, climbing nets and ropes, and the all-important slides that send children zooming back down to the ground. The tower design encourages adventurous play and is great for building confidence in school-aged kids who enjoy testing their climbing skills and navigating higher platforms.

Alongside the tower, thereโs a good range of equipment spread out across the Playground. Younger and older children alike will enjoy the swing area, which includes a birds nest swing thatโs perfect for group swinging or toddlers with a parent, plus a traditional swing.

A smaller climbing structure โ a mix of rock-climbing style grips and rope features โ was a big hit with our 7-year-old tester, offering a slightly lower, more approachable challenge compared with the main tower.

There are also balancing boards that quickly become the spot for friendly sibling competitions to see who can stay upright the longest.

Taarak Park doesnโt stop at play equipment โ it also caters to families wanting to stay active together. Thereโs a fitness station so adults and older kids can fit in some exercise while younger ones play, and a small soccer half court thatโs ideal for a kick-about or informal games with friends. The open grassed areas surrounding the play zones provide extra space for running, chasing games or throwing down a picnic rug.

The park has clearly been designed with comfort and practicality in mind. One noticeable feature is the non-sand base, which many parents will appreciate โ no more shoes or car full of sand after a quick park visit. Shade sails offer relief from the sun over key parts of the play area, and there are water fountains that are also pet-friendly, making this a nice stop if youโre out walking the dog. A BBQ area and sheltered seating give families the option to stay for longer, whether thatโs a weekend sausage sizzle or a simple afternoon snack while the kids play nearby.

Itโs worth noting that there are currently no toilets at Taarak Park, which is something to keep in mind if youโre visiting with younger children or planning to stay for an extended period. Limited street parking is available around the park, so you may need to park a short distance away during busier times. The park is also conveniently close to Aduro Park Mountain Bike Park, meaning keen riders can add some extra adventure to their outing with a ride before or after Playground time.

With its impressive play tower, variety of climbing and balancing challenges, sports and fitness facilities, and family-friendly amenities like shade, BBQs and pet-friendly fountains, Taarak Park is a brilliant local hangout for Allara Estate families and a great destination Playground for those a little further afield. Just plan ahead for the lack of toilets, and youโll be set for a โtower-rificโ play session.
