Located just around Harrisdale Nature Reserve, Harrisdale Green Sensory Park is the all-new interactive sensory park for children of all abilities at the new Harrisdale Green Estate.
When we first drove past, this cute playground caught our attention with its vibrant colours. The scale of this playground is smallish and more suited for younger toddlers. Older kids might find that there is limited play equipment for them here, but don’t worry, there is another bigger playground located at Green Link Park, which is just a few minutes walk away.
The highlight of this playground has to be the sensory play wall with various interactive play panels. The height of the sensory wall made it ideal for toddlers to play with and interact.
The different sensory play elements on each panel allow the kids to touch and feel them, which stimulates their senses while playing. Missy 6 really enjoyed exploring it and played with them for a long time.
There are four talking tubes scattered around the wood chip play area.
In the middle of the playground are various balancing logs, stepping logs, and orbs on which to climb and walk.
The wooden play hut provided a climbing structure for the kids to climb onto or pretend play.
A little maze with colourful vertical poles was a great place for the kids to play chasey!
The small scooter track inside the play area added another extra-fun element. So, remember to bring the kids’ bikes and scooters!
Around the park are a few kickabout areas perfect for the kids to run around.
Sun protection is necessary as the play area is not shaded at all. There is only a small shaded seating area just beside it, however, there is no BBQ facilities or toilets here. Parking are available alongside the streets around the park.
