The Zig Zag Scenic Drive is a short, one-way hill road in Gooseberry Hill with some of the best views over Perth. Winding for about 3km down the Darling Scarp, it follows an old timber railway route and features tight hairpin bends, rocky cuttings and several gravel pull-off bays where you can safely stop for photos.
Families can enjoy city and coastal plain views by day, wildflowers in spring, and twinkling lights at night. The drive starts at Lascelles Parade in Gooseberry Hill and finishes on Ridge Hill Road near Helena Valley/Maida Vale, making it an easy add-on to a day out in the Perth Hills or nearby Kalamunda.
