If you’re looking for a new spot to let the kids burn off some energy while soaking up stunning estuary views, the brand new South East Dawesville Foreshore Playground is well worth a visit. This beautifully designed, fully fenced nature play area is perfect for all ages and abilities, with something to keep everyone entertained.
There’s a dedicated wooden climbing structure for the older kids featuring climbing nets, a slide and a fireman’s pole.
And a smaller version for the little ones too!
South East Dawesville Foreshore Playground includes all types of swings, including a toddler, parent/child, traditional and even a harness swing for inclusive play.
You’ll also find a roundabout, musical play equipment, sand play, and plenty of space to roam and explore.
I really love the addition of communication boards, which use symbols, pictures and words to help children who have difficulty communicating feel more included.
There’s a half-court basketball and netball area, and plenty of grass for kicking a ball, cartwheeling, or practising your acro tricks.
Testing boxes for local wildlife sparked great interest from my 8 year old.
Shaded picnic spots, BBQs, and the nearby existing toilet block make it super convenient for families to stay a while.
With accessible paths, extra parking and beautiful native landscaping throughout, this is a lovely new addition to the Mandurah foreshore and a great spot for a day out. Stage 3 of South East Dawesville Foreshore Playground includes plans for a foreshore path connection, more picnic spaces and new lookouts.
