Located in the leafy foothills of Armadale, Lions Park is a small but cleverly designed neighbourhood Playground with a fun roadโandโraceโtrack theme. Itโs an ideal spot for little ones who are learning to ride their scooter or balance bike, with smooth pathways and painted track markings creating plenty of opportunities for imaginative play.

The main drawcard is the circuit of paths laid out like miniature roads. Blue and red directional arrows, stop and give way signs, and various safety signs turn a simple scoot or ride into a game of โdrivingโ.

Kids can pretend theyโre on a racetrack or heading out on a big adventure, stopping to โrefuelโ at the cute petrol pump along the way. If you have a scooterโmad toddler or preschooler, this park is especially appealing.

Away from the paths, there are natural play elements dotted around the park. Blocks and timber stumps of varying heights invite children to climb, balance, jump and create their own obstacle courses. These simple features are fantastic for developing gross motor skills and confidence, and they add to the parkโs relaxed, natureโinspired feel.

For swinging fun, Lions Park includes a double swing set, with one of the swings being an allโabilities style seat. This makes it a welcoming option for families looking for more inclusive play opportunities.

There are also a couple of jungle drums for musical play and a small messy play table where kids can poke, stir and explore โ though many little visitors will likely be too busy zooming around the โroadsโ to linger here for long.

Facilities are very good for a park of this size. There are toilets on site, including a change table, which is a big plus for families with babies and toddlers and makes it easier to stay and play a little longer.

A couple of picnic tables are provided, with at least one in the shade, making it an easy spot to enjoy morning tea or a simple picnic lunch. Mature trees provide additional natural shade, particularly welcome on warmer days.

The park sits alongside a creek, adding a lovely natural backdrop and a peaceful atmosphere. However, itโs important to note that Lions Park is only partially fenced on the creek side. Because of this, close supervision is essential, especially for very young children or those who are likely to wander. On the plus side, there is parking available nearby, so access by car is straightforward.

If youโd like to extend your visit, you can cross the bridge to find a pathway running along the opposite side of the creek. This offers a pleasant little walk or scoot and helps turn a quick Playground trip into a slightly bigger outing, without needing to drive anywhere else.

Overall, Lions Park in Armadale is a great choice for local families and anyone with scooterโ and bikeโloving toddlers. With its themed tracks, inclusive swing, natural play elements and handy onsite toilets with change facilities, it ticks many boxes for a relaxed play session in a pretty, creekside setting.
