Hinckley Park in Hocking is one of those Playground-and-park combos that can easily fill an entire morning, especially if your kids are the kind who like to keep moving. Set across a big neighbourhood reserve, itโs been designed as a true โdestination parkโ with multiple zones rather than just one main play structure. The standout is how much space there is to spread out, so it works just as well for a relaxed picnic as it does for a high-energy playdate.

If you only remember one thing before you go, make it this: bring wheels. The childrenโs bike circuit is the hero feature here, and itโs easy to see whyโthereโs loads of room for scooters and bikes, plus fun details that make it feel like a real little road network. The track sits right alongside the play areas, so you can keep an eye on kids swapping between riding laps and jumping back into the Playground.

Around the circuit youโll find the โAussie outdoorsโ feel that makes Hinckley Park different from a standard suburban Playground. There are nature play touches and big animal features that kids love spotting, and it encourages that open-ended style of play where they invent games rather than lining up for one piece of equipment.

For kids who want more traditional Playground equipment, thereโs plenty to do as well. Expect a mix of climbing and sliding (including an embankment-style slide area) plus swings that cater to different ages, which makes it a good option if youโve got toddlers and older siblings to entertain at the same time.

Sand play is another strong point here, with features that keep little builders busy for agesโparticularly good if youโve got kids who love digging, tipping, and experimenting with how sand moves.

Outside the Playground itself, Hinckley Park works nicely as a general park visit too. Thereโs a decent open grassed area for kicking a ball, as well as sport-style facilities like a basketball court. Itโs the sort of place where you can pack a picnic (or plan a casual family BBQ) and feel like youโve got options no matter what mood your kids are in.

Parking is straightforward, with off-road bays available at the southern end of the park on Copenhagen Drive. One thing to plan around is amenities: toilets arenโt something you can rely on here, so itโs worth doing a bathroom stop before you arrive.
