Glen Iris Estate Playground in Jandakot is a lovely nature-inspired spot for families, set where the old Glen Iris golf course once was. Tucked just off Dean Road in the new Glen Iris housing estate, the Playground is framed by beautifully landscaped gardens, leafy trees and plenty of open grass, making it feel like a green retreat in the middle of suburbia. Thereโs loads of room for kids to kick a ball, run around or for families to roll out a picnic rug and enjoy the peaceful surrounds.

The main play area has a strong nature-play feel, with timber elements and natural tones blending into the landscape. A real highlight for many kids will be the twin tunnels that run underneath a smaller but super-fast concrete slide. Children can crawl straight through the tunnels or climb the ladder up through the opening to access the slide, which adds an extra element of adventure and imaginative play. Nearby, a second slide is perfect for younger children who arenโt quite ready to tackle the taller structure. This smaller slide is accessed via a fun wooden climbing ladder that provides just the right amount of challenge for little legs.

Thereโs a good mix of equipment to keep a range of ages busy. Children can soar on the nest swing, test their balance on timber poles, and navigate a fantastic wooden walking beam that winds around a tree. A balancing rope walk and monkey bars offer more opportunities to climb, swing and build confidence. The standout for many will be the large tunnel slide, which can be reached by climbing either a rope net or a ladder, giving kids the choice of how adventurous they want to be.

Thoughtful play extras are dotted around the main structure. Thereโs a firemanโs pole for speedy descents, a pair of talk tubes so kids can โphoneโ each other across the Playground, and binoculars for taking in the view over the park and estate. These little touches encourage role play and exploration, extending playtime well beyond a quick visit.

While there are currently no BBQs or toilets on site, the Playground does have shaded seating areas where adults can relax while keeping an eye on the kids. A drinking fountain with a built-in dog bowl makes it easy to keep both children and furry friends hydrated. The park is also encircled by a smooth, flat path, ideal for scooters, bikes and prams, so younger riders can zoom around the perimeter while older siblings play on the equipment.

Glen Iris Estate Playground is a great option for local families and those willing to drive a little further for a fresh, nature-themed play space. With open lawns, a variety of climbing and balancing challenges, and thoughtful landscaping, itโs an inviting spot for an after-school play, weekend visit or sunset picnic as the estate continues to grow around it.
