Fee fi fo fumโฆ a giant-themed adventure awaits families at Giant Park in Bushmead. Tucked away in the leafy foothills just minutes from Midland and Kalamunda, this neighbourhood Playground packs in loads of imaginative play, climbing challenges and open space for kids to burn off energy.

The first thing little ones will notice is the playful giant theme woven through the park.

Kids can go on a โgiant huntโ, spotting oversized footprints, noses, eyes, toes and other body parts cleverly hidden around the space. Itโs a fun prompt for imaginative games and storytelling, and makes the park feel a bit like stepping into a storybook.

The main drawcard for bigger kids is the impressive tree house-style climbing structure that dominates the Playground. This tall tower is best suited to older, confident climbers as the way up is via climbing nets and rope elements.

Once theyโve conquered the ascent, children are rewarded at the top with an enclosed tube slide that spirals them back down to the soft-fall woodchips below.

Younger children arenโt left out. A โsleeping giantโ play structure features a smaller, double slide thatโs perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who like to race each other or slide together.

A low climbing slope offers a gentle challenge for little legs, while nearby tunnels and a lookout platform invite games of hide-and-seek or โking of the castleโ.

Surrounding the central equipment is a band of nature play. Large timber logs encircle the Playground and can be used as stepping stones, balance beams or seats, encouraging kids to test their balance and coordination.

There are also various boulders, logs and natural elements to climb and explore, helping the park blend into the existing bush environment.

For swinging fun, families will find a nest (basket) swing, which works well for siblings or friends to share and is a good inclusive option for a wide range of ages and abilities.

One of the loveliest features of Giant Park is how it has been designed around existing mature trees. These create a pleasant natural canopy and offer a good amount of shade at different times of day, making the Playground more comfortable through Perthโs warmer months.
Beside the play area, thereโs a large stretch of grass ideal for kicking a footy, playing chasey or spreading out a picnic rug. A covered BBQ shelter with a table and benches provides a handy spot for a simple sausage sizzle or morning tea, and thereโs a drinking fountain complete with a dog bowl so four-legged family members are catered for too.

At this stage there are no public toilets at Giant Park, so itโs worth planning shorter visits or factoring in a stop at facilities elsewhere before or after your play. Despite this, the combination of themed play, climbing opportunities, nature elements and open space makes Giant Park a fantastic destination for local families and a fun little outing for those exploring the foothills.
Giant Park offers a great balance for families with children of different ages โ big kids can tackle the tall climbing nets and tube slide, while younger ones enjoy the sleeping giant structure, tunnels and nature play at ground level. With its playful theme, shady trees and room to roam, itโs a delightful park to add to your Perth Playground list.
