Nature playground, gym equipment, mini skate area, mini basketball court, ping pong table, BBQ area, mini bushwalking trackโฆ andโฆ superb bakery and little cafรฉ across the road. Can it get better than this?
Carawatha Park located in Willagee is like a mini โheavenโ for mums with younger kids (in saying so, my 7 year old still had a blast too!) Upon arriving at this beautiful park on a sunny day, we were greeted with different things that we could explore.
Besides being able to run around in the vast area, the slide was their favourite. Although it was not big and tall, my kids loved that they had to do a little climb up the rocks or the wooden obstacles to get to the top.
After countless times on the slide, they went to see the small water play area.
Unfortunately, the water pump was not working really well, so my girls only stayed there for a minute or so before running towards the climbing area. They had lots of fun climbing up and going down the rope and the pole. Although the climb down was quite a height, my 3-year-old managed just fine with a little encouragement from her sister.
We then moved on to another exciting part of the park, a small track towards the bush. My girls were so excited when they read the sign where they can actually find some carved creatures along the path. I think that it was an excellent introduction for younger kids to learn more about nature and my 7 year old had fun explaining about different things to her sister.
The girls were still too young to play basketball or ping pong but they were already saying that they will tell their older cousins to come and teach them how to play while us mums (and dads) can do the BBQ.
If you want to combine your visit to the park with a workout there is a range of outdoor exercise equipment shaded by Macadamia trees.
My girls claimed that it was their new favourite park to visit. With so many different things that they can do, they canโt wait to go back and bring their bike/scooter along with our picnic mat. The cherry on top? The coffee and croissant from Pelican Croissanterie across the road. So flakyโฆso buttery.. YUM!
Carawatha Park is located on Archibald Street in Willagee.
