Burleigh Park is a beautiful little neighbourhood gem tucked away in the Jindowie area of Yanchep, and it is well worth a visit if you are looking for a quiet, family-friendly park with space to play, ride and relax.
One of the best things about Burleigh Park is the path that loops around the park and continues into the surrounding bushland. It is a lovely spot for younger children to bring a bike, scooter or skates, with native trees creating a peaceful, leafy feel as you wander or ride around. There is a little bench tucked among the gum trees too, which is handy for parents wanting to sit back and watch the kids explore.
A small bridge adds a sweet touch to the park, and in winter you may even spot a tiny creek flowing underneath. Once you cross back over, there is a good-sized grassed area that is perfect for kicking a ball, running around or spreading out a picnic rug. There are plenty of shady trees, making it a lovely place to settle in for a relaxed afternoon outdoors.
Families will also find a covered picnic area with two benches and table settings, plus a public BBQ, so it is a great option for a low-key catch-up or weekend lunch.
The Playground is split into two play spaces, which works well if you have children of different ages. The bigger kids’ area features a large slide, a circular swing and lots of sandy space to run around and play.
The younger children’s Playground includes a play structure with a rope bridge, slide and monkey bars, giving little ones plenty to climb, balance on and explore.
Both play areas have concrete tunnels, which are always a hit for hiding, climbing and imaginative play. The Playground is set on sand, so it is worth packing buckets, spades and trucks if your children love digging and building.
Burleigh Park may be small, but it is the kind of place where you can easily spend a morning or afternoon without the kids getting bored. After school during the week, it is often buzzing with local children of all ages, giving it a friendly community feel. For families in Yanchep, Jindalee and the surrounding northern suburbs, it is a lovely little park to keep on your list.
