Banksia Grove Skate Park at Grandis Park has been designed with the whole family in mind, making it a brilliant local hangout from toddler age right through to teens. Set on the corner of Grandis Boulevard and Pinjar Road, the skate park quickly became a favourite with Banksia Grove families and it still draws a steady crowd of kids on scooters, skateboards and BMX bikes, as well as parents and younger siblings who can relax nearby. Thereโs plenty of passive space around the facility and good visibility over the skating areas, so caregivers can comfortably supervise while the kids play.

The skate park itself was designed in consultation with the local community, including workshops and feedback from students at Joseph Banks Secondary College. This shows in the layout โ it caters for a range of ages and abilities, from those just starting out to confident riders looking to push their skills.

The concrete park features a โclosed flowโ bowl and a large open area with various jumps, pump bumps, ramps and rails, encouraging kids to keep active, build confidence and socialise while working on tricks on their scooters, skateboards and BMX bikes. Riders often comment on how smooth the surfaces and landings feel, which makes it an appealing spot to practise.

Younger children are not forgotten. Beside the skate elements thereโs a toddler-sized wooden Playground that gives little ones their own space to explore. This small nature-inspired play area includes a teepee structure, balancing log and a compact climbing frame with ropes leading up to a slide. Itโs a nice option for siblings who arenโt ready for wheels yet but still want to be part of the action. The mix of skate infrastructure and traditional play equipment means families with children of different ages can settle in for a decent visit without anyone feeling left out.

Facilities around the park make it easy to stay for a play, snack or casual catchโup with friends. There is lots of bench seating overlooking the skating area, so you can sit with a coffee and keep a close eye on the kids. Three sheltered picnic tables provide shaded spots for picnics or birthday meet-ups, and there is a barbecue for those who want to cook up lunch or dinner. A drinking fountain is located close by, complete with an attached dog bowl, which is handy if youโve brought the family pet along.

Grandis Park itself is a large, grassy reserve that surrounds the skate park, adding to the appeal. The open grass is perfect for kicking a footy or soccer ball, throwing a frisbee, or just letting the kids run off any extra energy after theyโve finished on their wheels. Itโs also a popular spot for walking the dog or going for a casual stroll. A universal access toilet is available at the Grandis Park Sports Amenities Building, which is a big plus for families planning a longer visit or coming straight from sports training.
For those who donโt live within walking distance, parking is available along Joseph Banks Boulevard and local streets near the corner of Grandis Boulevard and Pinjar Road. Once you arrive, everything is close together โ skate park, Playground, seating and open space โ making it an easy, lowโstress outing with kids. Whether your child is learning their first scooter skills, an experienced skater chasing new lines in the bowl, or a toddler happy on the little slide, Banksia Grove Skate Park is a wellโthoughtโout community space that encourages families to get outdoors and active.
