Tucked inside Mindarie Marina, Rosslare Park feels like a bit of a local secret, and itโs a brilliant spot for young families who want a beach day without waves and crowds. The little beach here sits in a sheltered enclave of the marina, so the water is shallow and very calm. Itโs ideal for toddlers and younger children to paddle, splash and play without the worry of big swells, and perfect for floating a small blowโup dinghy or other gentle water toys. The calm, protected waters also make it a fantastic spot for older kids and adults to try out paddle boarding, offering a safe and serene environment to glide across the water.

Access to the water is via a large bank of steps from the shore down into the sea, which doubles as a great place for kids to sit and dangle their feet or watch the fish. Running along the shoreline is a strip of grass shaded by mature trees. This shaded grassed area is a lovely spot to spread out a picnic blanket, set up camp for the day and keep cool between swims. There are also a few benches if you prefer to sit up off the ground and relax while the kids play.

Rosslare Park has two picnic shelters providing extra shade and some wind protection on breezy days, making it a comfortable place to enjoy morning tea or lunch. There are no BBQs here, so itโs best to pack a picnic or bring preโprepared food and snacks. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, and because itโs tucked away inside the marina rather than on the open coastline, it often feels quieter than many of Perthโs bigger, betterโknown beaches.

For little ones, the small sand-based Playground is a real bonus. Itโs designed with toddlers in mind, offering ageโappropriate equipment in a compact space. Importantly, the Playground is fully fenced and gated, giving parents extra peace of mind and making it easier to keep an eye on curious explorers who like to wander. Kids can happily move between digging in the sand, a quick play on the equipment and a splash in the water, all within a short distance.

Across the road from Rosslare Park youโll find a small car park, which makes access very simple when youโre carting bags, towels and beach toys. The car park area also has a toilet block, so there are convenient facilities close by for families. The combination of parking, toilets, shade, a toddlerโfriendly Playground and calm water makes Rosslare Park an excellent choice for a lowโstress outing with young children.

A lovely extra at Rosslare Park is that youโll sometimes find coffee and ice cream vans set up nearby. Itโs not guaranteed every day, but when theyโre there itโs a real treat โ parents can grab a takeaway coffee while the kids enjoy a cool ice cream between swims and Playground time, adding to the relaxed holiday feel of the marina.

Being located right next to the vibrant Mindarie Marina means that Rosslare Park offers more than just a beach experience. The Marina itself is home to a variety of cafes and restaurants, providing plenty of options for a meal or snack if you don’t pack your own. You can also enjoy a stroll along the boardwalk, admire the boats, or simply soak in the lively atmosphere of the Marina.
On top of all the practical positives, Rosslare Park can be a surprisingly magical place. On a past visit, dolphins were spotted swimming close to the shore inside the marina, much to the delight of the kids watching from the steps. Itโs those kinds of special moments, coupled with the safe, sheltered setting, that make this little beach a favourite with families in the know.

Overall, Rosslare Park in Mindarie is a lovely, laidโback spot for families, especially those with toddlers or less confident swimmers. If youโre looking for calm water, shade, a small fenced Playground and easy facilities all in one place, this โhiddenโ marina beach is well worth a visit.
