Spring is the perfect time to visit Lesmurdie Falls, found on the escarpment of the Perth Hills in Mundy Regional Park. And you don’t need to travel very far. Lesmurdie Falls is just a 30 minute drive east from Perth CBD. If we’ve had decent rainfall over winter, then the falls will be flowing and there are also a host of wildflowers on display too. We even spotted a bright blue fairy wren, though I wasn’t quick enough to take a picture! In the heart of Lesmurdie is Bill Shaw Reserve. The suburban park in the Perth Hills is like many other Perth parks with the playground made up of a sand fall area with a large playframe that features a slide, climbing nets, climbing wall and more. There are also a couple of swings, one being for babies/toddlers. This play area is covered by shade sails in warmer months. Next to the playground, there is a covered picnic table and BBQ.
