Richard Aldersea Park is situated among the leafy streets of Clarkson, just behind Clarkson Primary School. Little Miss and I discovered it while out for a drive, and found its suitable for a range of ages and abilities, from toddlers upwards. The main play structure has two slides, and lots to climb. A climbing wall is mounted on one side between the slide. Catalina park features a playground to one side, with winding pathways through garden beds packed with native plants. On the other side of the bushy garden is the grassed area which has a soccer goal at one end and plenty of room to run and kick a ball about. The playground is set right next to the path and road although there are some limestone walls alongside the play areas. It’s a unique design with varying levels for children to climb and explore. Sandow Park is a little gem of a park is hidden away in Clarkson. It’s located on the corner of Marmion Ave and Hester Ave but you wouldn’t know it from within the park itself. It’s set downhill and behind trees hiding most of the traffic and ensuring that children and pets can’t dash onto busy roads. It’s a small local park, with no barbecues, shelters or toilets but it’s got some of our favourite play equipment.
