Willagee NAIDOC Week Celebration

July 4 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Join us for a free, family-friendly celebration of the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ahead of NAIDOC Week (6 to 13 July).

This year marks a significant milestone – 50 years of NAIDOC Week – with the theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”, honouring the past, as well as the bright future ahead for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At this special community event, enjoy a shared feast featuring a mix of traditional Aboriginal foods (like kangaroo and damper) and classic favourites, plus native food-inspired ice cream, a photobooth, performances by an Aboriginal dance group, a live DJ and hands-on cultural activities.

Plus, don’t miss the beautiful exhibition at Wilgi Kaartdijin Mia Willagee Library (next to Willagee Community Centre), where artworks by kids from Willagee celebrate the talent and hope of the next generation – echoing the spirit of this year’s NAIDOC Week theme.

Great door prizes from Clothing The Gaps to be won!

Everyone’s welcome – it’s a warm, inclusive and respectful space for all to enjoy and celebrate together.
