WA Birds of Prey – animal encounter and cast dissection (6 – 13yrs)

Join the WA Birds of Prey team for a fun school holiday activity to meet some birds up close and learn about the threats they are facing. Participants will also have the chance to become scientists for the afternoon as they dissect a “cast” (the undigestable parts of their food that are regurgitated) and discover what it can tell them about the bird and the ecoystem where it lives.
Please note that this event is designed specifically for the age group 6 – 13. Please see below for information regarding expectations.
This is not a ‘drop and leave’ event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times.

Animal interaction rules apply – This event includes animal interaction. For the safety of the animals, this event is unsuitable for children that cannot sit still when asked, cannot be quiet when asked or struggle to have calm hands. We respectfully request that caregivers intervene if necessary to ensure their child’s behaviour is not negatively impacting the well-being of animals or others.
