Understanding solar panels and batteries for your home

May 17 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Get your solar questions answered and listen to expert advise to help you maximise energy savings at home.

Buying solar panels can be a confusing process. Conflicting information and opinions can sometimes make it all seem too hard. Understanding solar doesn’t have to be difficult, let us answer your burning solar questions.

Come along to this workshop to find out:

  • How do solar panels work and are they really better for the environment?
  • How to use your energy bill to work out if solar panels are worth it for you.
  • Is a battery worth it?
  • What all those confusing solar panel terms mean.
  • Which roof face is best to install your system on.
  • How to find a reputable installer and get a good quote.
  • Questions to ask your installer.
  • What to look out for on the day of installation.
  • What rebates and discounts are available and how do they work?
  • Reputable sources of independent information.
  • What you should be doing after your system is installed to be making the most of your solar panel investment.
  • What else you can do to reduce your power bills.

Plus time for Q and A so you can ask all your questions and a take home quote checklist handout. You will receive all the information you need in simple terms and none of the information you don’t. Your workshop facilitator is Sarah McCabe. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science and a Graduate Certificate in Carbon and Energy Studies. She has worked on many solar projects from 5-500kW in size and is passionate about helping people navigate the sometimes confusing process of reducing their energy use.
