Sensory Monster Storytime
Discover the Sensory Monsters!
Join award-winning children’s book author-illustrator and primary school teacher, Sean E Avery; and paediatric occupational therapist, Caris Bailey, for a fun and interactive story-time session. Sean and Caris will read the Sensory Monsters Playground Adventure – an exciting new picture book co-created by Sean and Caris, set in the newly built Duncraig Adventure Hub’s Sensory Monsters Playground.
After the story, you and your child will explore your various senses and get to know the Sensory Monster characters better through several sensory-play activities.
This Storytime it is suitable for sensory monsters aged 3 – 8 years.
Please be advised that children under the age of 13 years are to be accompanied by an adult at this activity.
If you are unwell or cannot attend, please contact the library as soon as you are able to allow someone else to take your place.
About Sean E Avery:
Sean is a primary school teacher, author-illustrator, graphic designer and neuro-inclusion specialist from Perth, Western Australia.
He is best known for his funny, heartwarming graphic novels and picture books for kids like Ducky the Spy and Frank’s Red Hat that won the 2023 CBCA Shadow Judges and WAYRBA Picture Book of the Year awards.
About Caris Bailey:
Caris is a paediatric occupational therapist who has vast experience in mealtimes; sensory processing; and emotion regulation. Caris believes in the importance of meeting the child where they are at.
