Come and explore the weird world of metals. We will be diving into chemistry and physics with various metals.

The core activities include metal etching, creating tarnish/patina through corrosion, and plating different metals. There will also be a few other small, related experiments.

The aim is to bolster curiosity about science. As a final product, we’ll create a small, science-based tag or bookmark.

Look out for a surprise event that will happen at the end! While it’s not related to metal, it is definitely entertaining.

Register your interest. This event is open for young people aged 11-17yrs, youth who do not meet the required age will have their ticket refunded.

Please ensure that you arrive 5 mins prior to the event start time to have your name marked off by one of the Youth Workers and bring your ticket with you (digital or QR code preferred).

Please note that food will not be provided during this event. Water is available however we do encourage you to bring your own water bottle and preferred snacks.

City of Canning youth staff do not have the authority to keep young people at our premises at the request of parents.
