NAIDOC – Cultural Workshop with Greg Nannup (Ages 6-12)

Join us for a fun and engaging cultural session that brings local First Nations history and traditions to life. Find out about the traditional custodians and history of the local area, listen to a creation story, and enjoy a hands‑on, close‑up look at real artefacts like kangaroo skins and boomerangs. Everyone gets the chance to see how these items were used and why they’re important.
Finish up with a bush‑string‑making demonstration, showing how natural fibers were turned into strong, useful string.
This will be a relaxed, interactive session that allows families to create a deeper connection to culture, Country, and community.
Bookings open to the public one week prior to event date. Bayswater Bilby members will get early priority booking access.
All children aged 12 and under will require a parent/carer to remain in the library throughout the session.
