Australia Day Celebrations – York

The 2025 Australia Day Awards and Celebration will take place on Sunday, 26 January, at the York Recreation and Convention Centre. The event will start with a free BBQ breakfast at 7:30 am, followed by the Flag Raising at 9:00 am and the Community Awards Ceremony, honouring local contributions. The morning will feature performances by local musicians and family-friendly activities. In the afternoon, celebrations will continue at the York Swimming Pool, featuring inflatable games, water slides, a free sausage sizzle and more family activities. A family-friendly movie screening will conclude the day. A separate event showcasing Ballardong Noongar culture will be held, featuring traditional music, dance, and food in collaboration with local Indigenous groups.
