Story writing with Aska@ Willetton Library Age 13-17

Register for an opportunity join in this awesome hands-on workshop with award-winning Graphic Novelist, Aska, that takes young storyteller

All youth aged between 13 – 17yrs are invited to register and join our story writing workshop with AÅ›ka (she/they) is an award winning visual storyteller and science communicator, with a passion for visual literacy. Having worked on over a dozen of published graphic novels and books, as well as a suite of independently published comics and zines, communicating with and evoking through pictures is AÅ›ka’s jam. AÅ›ka is also an active member of the Australian comics and children’s book communities, she helps to organise creative events, teaches, and travels across the state and country, bringing dynamic workshops and performances to people of all ages. Plus there will be Pizza served to participants!

This event is open for young people aged 13-17yrs, youth who do not meet the required age will have their ticket refunded.

Please ensure that you arrive 5min before start bring your ticket and have your name marked off by one of the Youth Workers when you arrive.

Duty of Care: The City of Canning is committed to providing safe and supported environments where young people can feel welcome and thrive. Our qualified youth team will do all they can to ensure young people are safe, supported and supervised during their time on our programs and in our centres. A large part of our Youth Service is delivering drop-in from youth centres and outreach activities at various locations; meaning young people can come and go as they please during opening times. Please note: if a young person chooses to leave in the middle of a program or centre open hours, they have the right to do so. City of Canning does not take responsibility for young people who leave the centre or are not in the premises. City of Canning youth staff do not have the authority to keep young people at our premises at the request of parents.
