Seacrest Park in Sorrento is a brilliant allโrounder for families, combining a fully fenced Playground with a big community oval and plenty of room to run, ride and play. Tucked just off Seacrest Drive, itโs the kind of local park where you can easily pop in for a quick play after school and end up staying much longer than planned.

The Playground itself is completely enclosed, which is a huge bonus if you have little ones who like to wander. Inside the fence youโll find a generous sand play area with soft fall around the edges and under the swings. Thereโs a picnic table and bench seating within the fenced zone, so you can sit down with a coffee or snack and still keep an eye on the kids.

The main play structure is very toddlerโfriendly. Wide stairs lead up to a low platform and small slide that most toddlers can manage on their own, building confidence without being too daunting. At ground level thereโs plenty to explore, including a cute โshop windowโ for imaginative play and a little climbing hole, so younger children donโt have to tackle the higher parts of the structure to have fun. A couple of spring rockers are dotted around the Playground for that classic bounceโaround ride.

Older or more adventurous kids arenโt forgotten. If they venture further across the bridge on the main structure, theyโll find a taller spiral slide that gives a bit more of a thrill. Around the Playground there are several sets of monkey bars, a chain climbing frame, a moving balance beam, a climbing wall and a balance disc walk. All of these elements really encourage kids to climb, swing, balance and test their strength and coordination, making it a great spot for burning off energy.

Shade can be an issue in many suburban Playgrounds, but Seacrest Park has shade sails that go up over the play area in the warmer months. The equipment itself is set away from large trees, so you donโt get much natural shade on the structures, but the sails make a noticeable difference on hot days and help keep the equipment cooler underfoot.

Facilities are a big plus here. There are toilets on site, parking in the adjacent car park, and lighting around the oval and community sporting facilities, which helps in the late afternoon and early evening when afterโschool sport is on. The car park can be busier during peak sporting times, but outside of weekend games and training you should have no trouble finding a bay.
Seacrest Park also plays host to regular community events, including evening food truck nights and markets. The Sorrento Night Market, for example, brings food trucks, live music, kidsโ activities like face painting, and market stalls to the oval on selected Fridays, making it a fun way to turn a simple park visit into an easy family night out.
Overall, Seacrest Park is a fantastic option for families with toddlers through to primaryโschoolโaged kids. The combination of a fully fenced, wellโequipped Playground, shade sails, toilets, and loads of open grass makes it a very easy, lowโstress outing. Whether youโre meeting friends for a playdate, squeezing in a quick run at the park after school or hanging around while siblings are at sports training, Seacrest Park is the sort of place that quickly becomes a regular in your Playground rotation.
