Enright Reserve Playground, Hamilton Hill

Enright Reserve in Hamilton Hill is a fantastic all-rounder park that caters for a wide range of ages and abilities. Tucked away in a quiet residential area, it combines a nature play space, a more traditional Playground, fitness equipment and a big oval, so it’s easy to fill a whole morning or afternoon here with the kids.

The nature-based Playground is ideal for little climbers and imaginative play. Younger children can confidently tackle the old tyres that lead up to a plastic tunnel slide, and there’s a second plastic tunnel to crawl through or balance across, which is great for toddlers working on their gross motor skills.

A simple teepee structure invites cubby-style play and hide-and-seek, while various balancing and stepping logs are perfect for practising coordination or setting up your own little obstacle course.

Older kids aren’t left out – they’re likely to gravitate towards the brightly coloured obstacle course elements and more challenging features.

The modern Playground offers a good variety of equipment in a compact space, making it easy to supervise siblings of different ages. The highlight for many bigger kids is the spinning top, which is great fun for group play, while younger ones are often drawn to the rocking plane.

The main play structure includes two slides, monkey bars, a fireman’s pole, rock climbing wall, rope bridge and a spider web-style rope climber. 

There are both a regular swing and a toddler swing so siblings can swing side by side.

Beyond the Playgrounds, Enright Reserve has some lovely extras that make it a solid family destination. There’s a concrete ping-pong table – you’ll just need to remember to bring your own bats and balls.

A large grassed oval with a cricket pitch and two back nets provides loads of room for a kick of the footy, a game of cricket or just running races. Around the outside of the reserve, a shared path loops the entire way, with distance markings so you can track your walk or jog. The full loop is 673 metres, making it a handy spot for pram walks, scooters and bikes, or for parents to fit in some exercise while the kids play.

Scattered along the path are pieces of outdoor exercise equipment, adding to the park’s fitness focus.

Shade is a big plus here. Mature trees around the Playground provide natural shade for much of the day, helping keep the play equipment cooler. There’s also a sheltered BBQ area with picnic tables and benches, making Enright Reserve an easy option for a relaxed family barbecue or birthday catch-up. With its mix of nature play, traditional Playground equipment, sports facilities and fitness trail, Enright Reserve is a great choice for families living in or visiting Hamilton Hill.
