Christchurch Park in Currambine is a bright, vibrant suburban Playground thatโs easy to find and even easier to enjoy. Conveniently close to the freeway exit, it makes for a simple stop if youโre passing through, and a great regular spot for local families โ especially if youโre looking to combine a park visit with walking the dog or letting the kids burn off some energy. Set within a generous green space of just over 10 acres, thereโs plenty of room to play, stroll and explore beyond the immediate Playground area, with paths and open grass well suited to casual walking, running and ball games.
One of the biggest positives is the parkโs thoughtful layout. The Playground sits slightly down in a gentle dip, which naturally helps keep kids within the sand-based play zone. Parents will appreciate the dedicated parking close by, public toilets, and a shaded picnic table with benches set within easy viewing distance of the equipment.

Mature trees around the play space add welcome afternoon shade, making it a cooler choice during the warmer months, and there is also simple shelter available in the park for when you need to escape a passing shower or take a break from the sun. If youโre after coffee or a treat, Cafรฉ 28 at the nearby Joondalup Resort / Country Club is the closest spot to grab something before or after your play.

The play equipment is well suited for toddlers through to early teens, roughly ages 2 to 12. The main multi-play structure offers a good mix of climbing and imaginative play, with a rock climbing wall, rope climb wall, double and single slides, a wheel bridge, pretend shop, steering wheel and tic-tac-toe panel providing plenty to explore.

Younger children will love the double swing, kangaroo rocker, mini ball maze, F1 racing game and โline up 4โ game board, while more confident climbers can test their balance and coordination on the higher elements. The sand base is great for softer landings and lends itself well to digging and construction play, though youโll want to be prepared for sandy shoes on the way home.

Beyond the main Playground, Christchurch Park really opens up. Off to one side thereโs a basketball hoop for casual shooting and simple games, and the paths that loop around the park are ideal for bikes, scooters and prams.

The large grassy field is perfect for kicking a footy or soccer ball, playing a game of chasey or touch, flying a kite, or simply rolling down the slopey sections of the hill. Itโs also a lovely picnic spot if you prefer to lay out a blanket under a tree for morning tea rather than sit at the table. The park is popular with local sporting and activity groups too.

There are a few downsides to be aware of. The Playground is not fully fenced, so youโll need to keep a close eye on speedy toddlers and wanderers. There are no shade sails directly over the equipment, so on very hot days you may want to time your visit for early morning or late afternoon when the surrounding trees give more shade. Thereโs also no water fountain, so packing your own water bottles is a must, especially if youโre planning to walk, scoot or kick a ball for a while.
Overall, Christchurch Park remains a fun, upgraded (2021) and genuinely family-friendly local park thatโs well worth a visit. With its combination of Playground, wide-open lawns, walking and riding paths, and simple but useful amenities like parking, shelter and toilets, it works just as well for a quick play as it does for a longer weekend catch-up with friends. Whether youโre a Currambine local or just looking for an easy park stop near the freeway, this is a relaxed, community-oriented space that many families will happily return to again and again.
