Join Nearer to Nature for a hands-on workshop where we will explore the fascinating world of animal homes and hideaways. Discover why wildlife needs safe spaces and learn practical ways to support them in your own garden. Together, we’ll create a variety of habitats —from drinking water stations to cozy hides and bird nest providers—helping local wildlife thrive. Perfect for nature lovers and families who want to make a difference in our local environment! 

Please note that this event is suitable for families with children aged 6-12yrs. Please see below for information regarding expectations.

This is not a ‘drop and leave’ event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times.

Please bring weather appropriate clothing for outdoor play and a drink bottle.

Type of event and expectations

Children are expected to follow instructions of the program facilitator and be respectful at all times. Participants must be capable of following safety instructions. Quiet spaces will be available for this event. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times and should remain on site for the duration of the events (multiple seating areas are available to parents/carers while at EcoHub).

Directions to EcoHub
Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near EcoHub and services multiple routes.

EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.

Bring the following items in household quantities for recycling at EcoHub when you attend: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids, beer can clips and corks.
