Kids love a good scooter and bike park! Children get to practise their riding in a safe environment. Many have great features such as simulated roads with stop signs and petrol pumps. Great for imaginative play! Plus you can start teaching some bike safety skills. Others are more challenging with pump tracks and jumps.
In addition, we’ve added details of where playgrounds are close to local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Therefore you can grab a bite to eat before or after your play, or grab a takeaway coffee on the way. Don’t forget your reusable coffee mug! 😉

Luminous Park is a “super fun” new playground that has everything (minus toilets) and is the third amazing great play space for the lucky residents of the vibrant Iluma Private Estate in Bennett Springs. The huge blue climbing tower is easy for little climbers to navigate and features a giant tunnel slide, a smaller slide, noughts and crosses, and a picnic table at the top. In the heart of Beldon is Haddington Park Public Playground. It’s a mix of traditional play equipment and nature play. It’s a real gem with something for everyone. The main play structure in the playground is surrounded with soft white sand, and features a slide, a fireman pole, a steering wheel, climbing ropes, monkey bars and ladders. Pioneer Park is an unusual playspace situated next to the Canning River in Gosnells. The playground is below street level and you enter via a ‘tree top’ long walkway which is pram friendly and great fun for scooting down. Banks Reserve is located in Mouth Lawley on the banks of the Swan River, the play space is bearly recognisable after an extensive redevelopment. The new nature-based playground has been cleverly designed around the huge preexisting trees which offer plenty of shade! The City of Belmont has a very cool new edition a Forster Park – a bike pump track! There’s the regular pump track circuit and then there are some pretty large jumps. This is so much fun – even just watching is very entertaining. Only bikes with air-filled tyres are allowed on the track as scooters and plastic wheeled toys can damage it. Herdsman Lake Regional Park is a great location for a family walk, play and picnic. There are 2 playgrounds around the lake, one at Glendalough Open Space and the other at Popeye Lake Parkland. Glendalough Open Space is a lovely little play area with parking directly next to it off the main road access. This area has swings, seesaw, flying fox, slides and numerous climbing frames to entertain kids of all ages. The new Tomato Lake all-abilities playground has opened and it appears to be a big hit as it was very busy when we visited. The playground is in front between the cafe and the bbq picnic area. The bbq area has also been refreshed with new picnic tables. The playground has been designed to suit toddlers through to older kids, including those with disabilities. Enright Reserve playground in Hamilton Hill is a great place for the whole family! With a nature-based playground, modern playground, and exercise equipment – there is something for everyone. The nature-based playground is great for children of all ages, my toddler could easily climb the old tyres to the plastic tunnel slide. This has to be one of the best nature playgrounds we’ve been to in the local area The Edge Playground in Baldivis is beautiful! It’s a unique and contemporary space that lots of additional features including a maze, hopscotch and cool street art incorporated into the area by Perth street artist Stormie Mills. Britannia Reserve Pump Track Britannia Reserve Pump Track is a 1.2km pump track and nature bike trail in Leederville. Close to the city, it’s a great spot to take active kids of all ages out riding. Britannia Reserve Pump Track was originally installed as part of a Pop-Up Play initiative in April 2019. It has quickly become a permanent fixture. As we pulled up to this new playground at Frasers Landing in Mandurah the first word out of both my kid’s mouths was “WOW” – the bright red playground is definitely eye-catching!!! The main play structure replicates a bird’s nest which ties into the naturalistic lifestyle of Frasers Landing. Mariala Vista Park is located in Jindowie, Yanchep. So many of the new parks that have been built recently have a problem with serious lack of shade, where the developer has planted trees but they won’t provide any shade until they mature in years to come. The Eden Beach Lookout and Playspace is a brand new section of Eden Beach estate in Jindalee has just opened (Dec 2021) and it’s great for the older kids! Featuring a basketball court, rock climbing wall, parkour, skate/scooter ramps and a huge grassy area it’s a beautiful spot to spend a few hours. My kids loved the parkour, and the scooter ramps were a huge hit. There’s a few shaded picnic bench areas and also a bbq as well. The Northern Suburbs have given us yet another fantastic park! At the Amberton Estate in Eglington, you’ll find the new park Heath Park also known as the Amberton Scooter Park and Pirate Playground. The park is a fair distance from the road and car park, about 100 meters, which makes it ideal for younger children not playing close to traffic. The biggest attraction of this park HAS to be the scooter park. A dedicated scooter track is an excellent idea and is similar to a scaled down skate park – perfect for younger children. Wow, wow, wow! Shipwreck Cove park in Golden Bay, has totally nailed it! What a fantastic family space and visually it looks stunning! A beautiful green parkland along Golden Bay foreshore, right next to the Indian Ocean. The shipwreck themed park has a playground including a separate fenced area for toddlers, a cool pump track, a cycle and scooter circuit, BBQs, shaded picnic tables, toilets, showers, lots of parking, a stunning new lookout point and beach access. Being only a couple of minutes’ drive off Indian Ocean Drive makes Ledge Point a great little stopover, either for a 5 minute break or a couple of days. Located just around Harrisdale Nature Reserve, Harrisdale Green Sensory Park is the all-new interactive sensory park for children of all abilities at the new Harrisdale Green Estate. The Kent St Weir area has just got even better with the newly opened Pump Track. The pump track is located on Kent St as you drive into the main car park area. The last few times we have visited the area the car park has been full and parking has overflowed to the adjoining streets. Perth’s newest inner-city playground, Wellington Square Playground, has just opened! Koolangka Koolangka Waabiny means children’s playground in Whadjuk Nyoongar. WA’s native Banksia plant theme can be spotted throughout the vast play space. The City of Gosnells has unveiled its latest inclusive play space at Sutherlands Park in Huntingdale. This exciting development marks the first completed project of the Sutherlands Park Master Plan, with a Youth Entertainment Space still to come.
