Children not wanting to sleep over can be picked up in the evening and dropped off following day. \nWhen \n28 January | 2:00 PM – 29 January | 11:00 AM \nWho \nYoung people aged 12 -15 who are at risk of developing a mental health challenge and live in Southwest Western Australia. \nWhereSwan Valley Adventure Centre \nBring \nList to be supplied by facilitators closer to program. Day clothes\, nightwear\, toiletries\, sleeping bag\, pillow\, hat\, enclosed shoes and water bottle \nRefreshments \nAfternoon tea\, dinner\, breakfast and lunch \nCost \nFree \nPlease note that this booking is an ‘Expression of Interest’ and not confirmation of attendance. \nA member of our team will contact you to complete the HelpingMinds registration and eligibility process. Please add Parent/Guardian details in the CONTACT INFORMATION section and young person’s details in the TICKET – EXPRESSION OF INTEREST section. If booking multiple tickets\, please fill in one young person’s details per ticket. \nWant to know more or have some questions or having trouble registering? \nYou can either: \n• email shp@helpingminds.org.au \n• call 9427 7100 and ask for SHP Administration \n………………………………………………………………………………. \nSchool Holiday Program important info \n\nIf your child has not received support from HelpingMinds before (or within the last 6 months) a phone interview will need to take place with the parent/guardian\nA consent form will need to be signed by both parents.\nIf children require medication throughout the day\, they will be required to self-administer this.\nExternal support workers are not allowed at the workshop.\nChildren require adequate independent coping skills to be able to deal with group situations.\nAll our workshops have a maximum capacity to ensure our counsellors can provide adequate professional support for all children attending.\nTo give everyone in the community a fair chance\, each child can enrol in a maximum of two workshops.\nThis program is funded by the Mental Health Commission to provide support to young people caring for someone or with a loved one with a mental health concern. Perfect for families wanting to create amazing memories together – kids will love the excitement (especially the pool on a hot day!) while parents discover their own adventurous side. Also ideal for groups of friends looking for something way more fun than the usual weekend plans. \nNo previous experience needed – just bring your sense of adventure! \nWHAT’S INCLUDED: \nA two-and-a-half-hour adventure experience\, including: \n\nCommando Course (30 minutes)\n\nYour instructor will guide you through a fun obstacle course. Test your balance\, coordination\, and maybe discover muscles you forgot you had! \n  \n\nKayaking & Stand-Up Paddleboarding (60 minutes)\n\nExplore the Swan Valley river in single or double kayaks\, or try stand-up paddleboarding. Join instructor-led games\, or paddle at your own pace.
