SUMMARY:Fathering Girls
DESCRIPTION:Shire of Mundaring Libraries is pleased to host this workshop presented by DadsWA supported by Midvale Hub Parenting Service (Perth North East). \n(For fathers and father figures of young people 4 to 12 years.) \nThe father–daughter relationship is especially important as girls approach their adolescent years. A strong\, supportive connection with their father can play a key role in helping girls navigate social pressures\, negative stereotypes\, and challenging behaviours they may encounter\, while supporting them to make confident and healthy choices. \nThis workshop explores how fathers can strengthen their relationship with their daughters and positively influence their wellbeing\, confidence\, and decision‑making during this important stage of development. \nThis workshop will explore: \n\nThe importance of positive male role modelling\nBuilding open and respectful communication\nSupporting resilience and emotional wellbeing\nStrengthening self‑worth and confidence\nEncouraging assertiveness and healthy boundaries\n\n(Parents may bring babies under 5 months\, but this session is not suitable for children to attend.) \nBookings are essential for this free event via Humanitix. Places are limited. \nLight refreshments will be available. \nLet us know if you have any access requirements. \nAbout the presenter: Keith has worked with Ngala in heading up the DadsWA program for the past 13 years and has been working with fathers and men for 18 years.
