DESCRIPTION:Sew and socialise with other like-minded people!\nWork on your latest hand-sewing or embroidery project\, and get to know others with the same interests in this friendly group. Free help is available\, but the main focus is on fun and socialising. \nBring your own materials and equipment to complete in company. Some basic knowledge/skill in hand-sewing or embroidery is required. \nWant to sew on a machine? We have 2 free sewing machines available for use in our Makerspace\, the CoGLAB. Or join our HDStreetwise Quilting Angels\, to do some sewing for a good cause! \nThe Wednesday Sewing group meets inside Amherst Library’s Meeting Room. Refreshments of tea and coffee are provided. \nFor adults. No bookings required. \nProgram days and times\nEvery second Wednesday\, 12pm – 3pm

DESCRIPTION:The 8th of March 2026 is International Women’s Day! Join us at Amherst Village Library on the 7th of March for a free Author Talk event to celebrate. \nKate Purcell is a local writer/speaker\, peer worker\, and the author of two published books. In her first book “Hope Inc. Overcoming Anorexia and Schizoaffective Disorder”\, Kate shared the story of her struggles with various mental health disorders. One of her greatest struggles was with anorexia nervosa\, a condition that disproportionately affects women all over the world. \nKate’s second book\, “Tell Your Eating Disorder to F**k Off”\, has recently been published\, and is the self-help book for eating disorders\, written by someone who lives with it. Kate’s latest publication is a toolbox for separating who you are from your disorder\, and building a life without constant struggles around food\, weight\, and negative self-perception. \nJoin us at Amherst Village Library on Saturday the 7th of March\, for an author talk by Kate about her new book\, her journey\, and her mission to help others find the hope and healing they are missing. \nCopies of Kate’s books will be available for purchase and signing. \nAdults only. Free help is available\, but the main focus is on fun and socialising. \nBring your own materials and equipment to complete in company. Some basic knowledge/skill in hand-sewing or embroidery is required. \nWant to sew on a machine? We have 2 free sewing machines available for use in our Makerspace\, the CoGLAB. Or join our HDStreetwise Quilting Angels\, to do some sewing for a good cause! \nThe Wednesday Sewing group meets inside Amherst Library’s Meeting Room. Refreshments of tea and coffee are provided. \nFor adults. No bookings required. \nProgram days and times\nEvery second Wednesday\, 12pm – 3pm

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the festive season in our series of free\, hands-on Christmas workshops for adults this December! \nJoin us for a 2-hour Cricut Christmas Gift Tags workshop with local Cricut expert\, Michele from ShellCraft! Attendees will learn how to use Cricut machines to create a layered shaker bauble (which can also be used as a tag) and a peek-a-boo tag that uses glitter heat transfer scraps. \nAll materials and equipment will be provided\, allowing each participant to make two peek-a-boo tags and one layered shaker bauble each that they can take home and add to their Christmas decorations collection. \nAdults only. \nBookings are essential\, and open to the public from the 4th of December\, 2025.
