Have you been thinking about hitting the open road? Getting the kids out into nature? A great place to start is the RAC Perth Caravan & Camping Show. Everything you need to travel around our great state is in one place, making shopping easy.
The variety is huge, from the smallest swag to the biggest motorhome. Pop-tops, camper trailers, tents, campervans and caravans are all here. Having everything in one place makes comparisons easy. You’ll also find large displays of 4×4 vehicles to tow your van or trailer.
If you already enjoy camping or caravanning you can pick up some new gear or accessories from the vast array of market stalls or from the air-conditioned exhibition pavilions. Our favourite was the Tourism Pavilion, showcasing the different regions of W.A. you can travel to.
Over the weekend there are many free activities for children. The RAC Little Legends Club Zone has a bouncy castle, rock climbing wall and face painting, and can be found in the south-west corner of the showgrounds. Nearby is Tent Land, a Nature Play WA activity area where the kids can make their own cubbies and tents from sticks. Kids can also do the Treasure Trail by visiting all 4 RAC stalls and getting their treasure map stamped for the chance to win a new bike!
The show is quite large so jump on the free courtesy golf buggy and give your legs a rest. There are also many food and drink outlets open, including the large Food Precinct with food trucks and fully shaded tables and chairs. The Piazza area in the north-west corner also has food trucks and picnic bench style seating with live demonstrations and bush cooking shows (including kids cooking on the weekend) on stage.
For those that have found themselves a bargain a parcel pickup service is available so you don’t have to carry your purchases around all day. It’s only a gold coin donation to use it with proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
