In an emergency\, call triple zero (000). \nFrequently asked questions \nWhat is Family and Domestic Violence (FDV)? \nFDV happens when one person in a relationship hurts another or makes them feel unsafe and is a repeated pattern of controlling behaviour to cause fear\, physical harm and/or psychological harm. It can happen in any kind of relationship — not just with husbands and wives or boyfriends and girlfriends (intimate partners) and the abuse doesn’t have to involve hurt to your body\, or physical violence\, to be FDV. FDV can happen to anyone — regardless of country\, religion\, sexuality\, gender\, social background socio-economic status\, age or culture.* \nHow big a problem is FDV in Australia? \nFDV is a serious and widespread problem in Australia\, but it is also preventable. To prevent FDV we need to understand it. Check out the Our Watch key statistics page to understand the extent of FDV in Australia. It’s important to note that FDV takes a profound and long-term toll on the person’s health and wellbeing\, on families and communities\, and on society as a whole.** \nWhat else can I do to support those impacted by FDV? \nBe educated: \n\n1800 Respect– for information on how to support someone experiencing FDV\, or safety planning (things you can do to be safer when living with FDV). \nStop it at the Start-FederalGovernment campaign to help break the cycle of violence by encouraging adults to reflect on their attitudes and have conversations about respect with young people. \nZonta House free community workshops– Free public workshops and tailored sessions for small to medium groups\, including policy support. \nDoing Nothing Does Harm– Our Watch campaign to encourage people to do something when they see or hear disrespect towards women. \nDV alert awareness sessions– free workshops to learn about FDV. \nThe Barber Shop– White Ribbon resource hub for men and boys who want to prevent men’s violence against women. \n\nTake action: \n\nZonta House Refuge Association– donate money\, provide in-kind support\, or support through the Containers for Change scheme. \nDV Safe Phone– donate your mobile phone\, funds\, or fundraise for DV Safe Phone who collect\, repurpose\, and gift mobile phones to victims Australia-wide through registered charities\, safe houses\, family and domestic violence and/or law enforcement agencies. \nWhite Ribbon– find out how to be an advocate for change in your local community or at a higher level. \nWorthy Australia– donate furniture and household items\, or funds to help turn empty houses into furnished homes for women and children escaping FDV. \n\nSources: \n*https://www.1800RESPECT.org.au/violence-and-abuse/domestic-and-family-violence \n**https://www.ourwatch.org.au/quick-facts/

Participants with defective skateboards may not be able to participate. Our facilitators are not able to make repairs to participants skateboards during the coaching session. \nParticipants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus. \nKey points• Skateboards only• Participants must be wearing a helmet• Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen• Participants must be over the age of 6• Parents must stay on site if their child is under 12• Please arrive 15 minutes early to register your attendance• Disclaimer form will need to be signed on the day \nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. The squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. \nAll our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well.
