Whether you’re looking to play games\, socialise\, explore your creative interests or simply unwind\, The Underground offers opportunities to have fun\, build confidence and make new connections. \nYoung people can enjoy a variety of entertainment options\, including pool tables\, table tennis\, foosball\, PlayStation 5\, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The centre is also home to a professional digital recording studio\, providing aspiring musicians and creatives with access to quality equipment and opportunities to develop their skills. Passionate musicians can also perform on our fully equipped stage at Late Night Live\, a once-a-term live music night. \nThere are two Drop-In sessions tailored to different age groups: \n\n10-14 years: provides a fun and welcoming space for younger secondary school-aged young people to make friends\, enjoy activities\, build confidence and try new experiences.\n15-25 years: offers young people in this age group a relaxed environment to socialise\, unwind\, explore their interests and connect with others in a supportive setting.\n\nQualified Youth Workers are present at every session to provide support\, guidance and a friendly chat whenever needed. DESCRIPTION:Join Nearer to Nature and enjoy a special up-close encounter with some birds of the night\, including owls. Learn about their unique features\, behaviours\, and natural beauty.  \nAfter meeting these fascinating birds\, we’ll head out on a guided night walk through Piney Lakes Reserve in search of wild owls\, tawny frogmouths\, and the habitats they call home. Along the way\, keep your eyes peeled for other nocturnal wildlife\, including bats\, frogs\, spiders\, and a variety of other creatures that come to life after dark. \nThis is a unique opportunity to connect with nature\, learn about local wildlife\, and experience the reserve in a whole new light… or rather\, under the stars! ✨ \nThis event is perfect for families with children aged 8 and up. \nBabes in arms do not require tickets for this event \nLength \n2 hour \nStart time \nThis event has a strict start time and latecomers may not be admitted. \nLocation \nInside –Binjar Room and outside in Piney Lakes Reserve \nRequirements \nWearing enclosed shoes\, long pants and long sleeves is recommended. Please bring weather appropriate clothing\, a torch and mosquito repellent. \nType of event and expectations \nAnimal interaction rules apply – This event includes animal interaction. For the safety of the animals\, this event is unsuitable for children that cannot sit still when asked\, cannot be quiet when asked or struggle to have calm hands. We respectfully request that caregivers intervene if necessary to ensure their child’s behaviour is not negatively impacting the well-being of animals or others. \nOutdoor event – This event features a guided outdoor walk focused on observing live animals in their natural habitat. Participants are expected to follow the program facilitator’s instructions and show respect throughout the experience. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Due to the nature of the event\, there will be moments where silence is required. As such\, this event may not be ideal for children who have difficulty remaining quiet for short periods when asked. \nAccessibility \nThis event includes a walk on some uneven ground which may not be suitable for all walking aids. \nAccessible parking is available at front of EcoHub\, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. To reach us\, if heading westbound\, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area\, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left.
