DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the City of Kwinana. Freestyle Now will be hosting a FREE Scooter\, Skateboard\, BMX\, Rollerskate jam session at Edge Skatepark.\n\n\nThanks to the City of Kwinana. \nINFORMATION – Freestyle Now will be hosting a skateboard\, scooter\, rollerskate and BMX coaching jam session. The session will be open to any participants in skateboard\, scooter\, BMX and Rollerskate who would like to increase their skill level and get advice on tricks. There will be mini challenges held during the session with lots of prizes to be given away. Participants can register for the sessions on line via the link below. Participants can also register on the day. \nThe jam session runs for 3 hours. Participants can come and go as they please. There is no groups allocated to Freestyle Now coaches in this session. It is an open session in relation to the coaching side. Mini challenges and fun skatepark games are the main focus. \nAt the beginning and end of the session Freestyle Now will host a skatepark information session the help educate participants and parents on all things related to skatepark use (etiquette\, safety\, equipment) \nThe workshop sessions would be open to any participant over the age of 6. \nFreestyle Now squad members would be present to offer participants technical advice\, trick tips\, skill development and skatepark etiquette. \nOur facilitators analyze the participant’s skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. Skills can be taught but confidence cannot. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our instructors speak the participant’s language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay this safety message to our participants and reiterate the importance of helmets and how they can minimize injuries. \nAll participants would need their own equipment and would also be required to wear a helmet and closed in shoes. Participants with defective equipment may not be able to participate. Our facilitators are not able to make major repairs to participants equipment during the session. \nParticipants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus. \nKey points \n• Coaching workshops are not suitable for 3 wheeled plastic scooters\, plastic rollerskates or street bicycles or mountain bikes – BMX bikes and 2 wheel scooters only! \n• Participants must be wearing a helmet \n• Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen \n• Participants must be over the age of 6 \n• Parents must stay on site if their child is under 12 \nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. The squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. All our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. Bats\, threatened by habitat loss\, play a crucial role in our ecosystem\, and this is a wonderful opportunity to understand their importance and how we can help protect them. \nThis family-friendly activity is recommended for families with children ~5 and up to 17yrs! Don’t miss this chance for an unforgettable\, educational adventure under the stars during the school holidays! \nThis is not a ‘drop and leave’ event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times. \nWhat to expect \nLength \n2 hour \nStart time \nThis event has a strict start time and latecomers may not be admitted. \nLocation \nInside –Binjar Room and outside in Piney Lakes Reserve \nRequirements \nWearing enclosed shoes\, long pants and long sleeves is recommended. Please bring weather appropriate clothing\, a torch and mosquito repellent. \nType of event and expectations \nOutdoor event – This event features a guided outdoor walk focused on observing live animals in their natural habitat. Participants are expected to follow the program facilitator’s instructions and show respect throughout the experience. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Due to the nature of the event\, there will be moments where silence is required. As such\, this event may not be ideal for children who have difficulty remaining quiet for short periods when asked. \nAccessibility \nWalking ~1km\, some uneven pathways. \nAccessible parking is available at front of EcoHub\, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue.
