When rain or very hot days are forecast there will be more sellers than usual. Maximum height of vehicles admitted – 2.2m. \nSellers are charged $10 per car bay they and their car occupied. Buyers: \nSwapMart opens at 6.30am to buyers. \nEntry is $2 with free entry for children. The restoration project will help improve habitat for native wildlife\, strengthen local ecosystems and support the health of nearby waterways. \nWhether you're a seasoned volunteer or planting your very first tree\, everyone is welcome to get involved. The event is suitable for children\, making it a great opportunity for families to spend time outdoors while giving back to the environment. \nGloves\, refreshments and light snacks will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Whiteman Park is hosting our 2026 community planting day on National Tree Day!\nOur annual National Tree Day plantings are a great opportunity for the local community to get involved in the revegetation and overall improvement of previously disturbed and degraded habitats in the Park\, so we’d love to see everyone and their green thumbs! \nOur Planting site\nThe Horse Swamp south site will involve planting a bushland buffer zone between Dulwich Street and the Conservation category wetland to help support the health of this important wildlife habitat.  \nThe vegetation buffer that will be created through this regeneration project will support a range of species in the future\, from the quenda and koomal (brush-tailed possums) to resident frogs and a host of bird species. \nNational Tree Day community plantings will continue at this habitat restoration site for up to five years.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nRegister now\n\n\n\n\n

Come and join us for as long as you wish\, plant some WA native plants to beautify your local park and meet your neighbours. See the meet point in the image below. We look forward to seeing you there! \nIn the event of unfavourable weather conditions this event may be cancelled as heavy rains will impact planting. In the event of a cancellation\, participants will be notified via Facebook and email. \nAdditional information \nPlease bring your own gloves\, trowel\, water bottle and keep cup. Wear a hat\, long sleeves\, enclosed shoes\, and dress appropriately for the weather. Light refreshments will be available during the event. Street parking available within the surrounding streets – please follow all parking signs and regulations.
