Learn the journey of a donation from drop off to resale or repurpose\, and discover how everyday items can be diverted from landfill and given a new life. \nWe’ll then hunt for second-hand bargains in the Good Sammy Factory Outlet Canning Vale. \nThe bus will return to Lynwood Youth Hub by 1.30pm. \nMorning tea and voucher to shop in the Factory Outlet included. \nThis event has been supported by a grant from the Government of Western Australia and the Waste Authority. Together\, we’re giving young people in Canning the tools and inspiration to rethink fast fashion and choose sustainable alternatives such as upcycling\, swapping and second-hand shopping. \nRegister your interest. DESCRIPTION:Join us Wednesday afternoons between 3.00pm and 5.00pm for nature-rich STEM experiences at Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre. Just $5 entry per person and open to everyone! \n​ \nWe will introduce a different approach this term. Rather than running structured activities\, we will be offering access to the centre and a range of self-guided activities. Ride your bike\, bring your friends\, pack an afternoon snack or purchase from Twitchers coffee window. \n  \nEvery Wednesday after school we will be providing a range of self-guided nature-based experiences. Come and meet other families who are wild about the natural world. Activities will vary each week and may include: \n\nScooping for macro-invertebrates\nInvertebrate sifting\nWildlife surveys\nOrienteering\nNature art\nRehabilitation\nAnimal feeding\nNature walks\nEco-games\n\n  \nThe Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre will be open to the public for Wildlife Wednesdays during school terms from 3.00pm-5.00pm. Children can create masks\, capes\, crowns\, accessories\, and costume details to build onto simple clothing or costume bases from home. With a focus on creative costume elements this workshop is an engaging\, low-pressure way for your kids to take the lead in preparing for Book Week.
