Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love being in the water\, this is your chance to build your skills and have some fun at the beach. \nGone Surfin will supply tuition\, surfboards and sunscreen\, while the RYC team will provide support and good vibes. \nThis activity is a part of RYC Untamed\, our range of adventure\, active and outdoor programs designed for young people to try something new\, get outside\, build new skills and have fun. \n\nSession 1 (12 – 17 years): 10am – 11.30am\nSession 2 (17 – 24 years): 12.30pm – 2pm\n\nRegistrations will open Monday 7 September.  \nNote: This activity has a limit of 16 spaces across the two sessions. DESCRIPTION:Create your own Monster Workshop \nStarting with a basic shape\, Mark will show you how easy it is to create your own Monster characters in this hands-on drawing workshop\, by adding some simple details you will soon see your Monster come alive on the page. \n \nSuitable for ages 5 -12. $5 per child plus booking fee. \n \nAbout Mark Guthrie \nA Fine Arts degree majoring in Drawing and a Visual Arts degree majoring in Illustration led to working in the UK as a Graphic Artist with ITV Channel 4 and then in animation with Walt Disney Animation Australia in Sydney. Most 2D sequels were made in Sydney\, so his film credits include virtually every Disney film that has a 2 or 3 in its title. During his time with Disney Mark continued to work as a freelance Illustrator/Cartoonist\, eventually leaving Disney to pursue his career (passion) on a full-time basis; therefore\, children’s book illustration and newspaper/magazine illustration and cartooning are his mainstay in keeping me in 2B pencils. Publishers Mark has also worked with Scholastic Australia\, Koala Books\, Blake Education\, Pearson Education\, Transworld Publishers and Cengage Learning.

DESCRIPTION:Get ready for an exciting hands on robotics and artificial intelligence experience these October School Holidays at Stirling Libraries\, presented by AICODE Australia. \nIn this interactive two hour workshop\, participants will explore how robots are used in the real world through engaging demonstrations\, coding activities and hands on challenges using Sphero robots and the DJI RoboMaster EP. \nStudents will develop coding and robot control skills as they program robots to complete tasks\, solve problems and take on an exciting mission challenge. Learn the ‘nuts and bolts’ of how to go about creating comics and develop your own Batman\, Power-Ranger\, Wonder Woman style character. \n \nSuitable for ages 8 – 12. $5 per child plus booking fee. \n \nAbout Mark Guthrie \nA Fine Arts degree majoring in Drawing and a Visual Arts degree majoring in Illustration led to working in the UK as a Graphic Artist with ITV Channel 4 and then in animation with Walt Disney Animation Australia in Sydney. Most 2D sequels were made in Sydney\, so his film credits include virtually every Disney film that has a 2 or 3 in its title. During his time with Disney Mark continued to work as a freelance Illustrator/Cartoonist\, eventually leaving Disney to pursue his career (passion) on a full-time basis; therefore\, children’s book illustration and newspaper/magazine illustration and cartooning are his mainstay in keeping me in 2B pencils. Publishers Mark has also worked with Scholastic Australia\, Koala Books\, Blake Education\, Pearson Education\, Transworld Publishers and Cengage Learning.

Participants will get to create a concertina-style art book using watercolours\, collage materials\, and their own artistic flair to tell a story\, capture memories or express their personality.\nWith all materials provided\, young people aged 10 to 18 years will have the opportunity to experiment with colour\, texture and mixed media while designing a keepsake to treasure. Participants are also encouraged to bring along personal items such as photographs\, ticket stubs\, letters\, poems\, drawings or decorative pieces to incorporate into their artwork and make it truly their own. No prior art experience is required\, just bring your imagination and get ready to turn blank pages into a vibrant collection of folded layers and memories.\nWhether you’re an experienced artist or simply looking to try something new\, Holiday Mayhem: Creativity in Folded Layers is a relaxed and creative workshop offering young people the perfect opportunity these school holidays to explore self-expression\, connect with others and create something meaningful to take home.\n\n\nAdditional Workshop Information\n\n📚 Each ticket purchased admits one young person (aged 10-18 years) to attend the workshop. \n📚 Lunch will be provided for attending participants. \n📚 Participants are encouraged to bring meaningful keepsakes such as photographs\, ticket stubs\, letters\, poems\, drawings or decorative pieces for inclusion in their concertina art book. \n📚 It is essential for registered participants to: \n\nwear socks and enclosed shoes.\nbring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day’s activities.\nbring their own lunch (if they have specific dietary requirements)\n\n📚 Youth and Families programs and events are designed for residents of the City of of Gosnells.
