DESCRIPTION:If you’re aged between 12-17 years and eager to explore scenic trails\, conquer new challenges and spend an action-packed day in the sun these school holidays\, then Rock and Roll Mountain Biking is for you! \nRock and Roll Mountain Biking will supply tuition\, first-grade mountain bikes and helmets\, while the Rockingham Youth Centre (RYC) team will provide transport to and from Jarrahdale.  \nWhether you’re a mountain biking pro or new to the sport\, there is fun to be had. \nRegistrations will open Monday 7 September.  \nThis activity is a part of RYC Untamed\, our range of adventure\, active and outdoor programs designed for young people to try something new\, get outside\, build new skills and have fun. \nA few things you need to know\n\nRegistration and parent/guardian permission are required for this activity.\nYou must be able to ride a bike.\nThe RYC team will provide transport to and from Jarrahdale.\nSpaces are limited\, so please only register if you are definitely able to attend.\nRegistration does not guarantee attendance.\nMountain biking activities are inherently hazardous. Participation in this activity is voluntary and entirely at the participant’s own risk.\n\nPick-up and drop-off details will be provided once registration and attendance have been confirmed. \nNote: This activity has a limit of 10 spaces. Registrations will close once 15 people have registered\, allowing for a small waitlist buffer. If the Registration button does not open the registration page\, it is because capacity has been reached.

SUMMARY:Build a Quenda Cabin at Piney Lakes (ages 7 - 12yrs)
DESCRIPTION:Join Nearer to Nature and quenda expert Dr Kenny Travouillon from the WA Museum for a fascinating exploration of one of Perth’s most iconic native marsupials\, the quenda (southern brown bandicoot). Through interactive activities and engaging discussions\, discover the secret lives of these remarkable animals and learn how you can get involved in the annual Quenda Count taking place in October. \nMake a real difference for local wildlife by helping to build quenda refuges\, known as “Quenda Cabins”\, which provide shelter from predators such as cats and foxes. Together\, we’ll construct two quenda cabins that will act as important stepping stones between fragmented habitats in Piney Lakes Reserve\, helping support local quenda populations while raising community awareness about their conservation. \nPlease note that this event is suitable for families with kids aged 7 to 12yrs. Please see below for information regarding expectations. \nThis is not a ‘drop and leave’ event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer.
