Whether you’re looking to play games\, socialise\, explore your creative interests or simply unwind\, The Underground offers opportunities to have fun\, build confidence and make new connections. \nYoung people can enjoy a variety of entertainment options\, including pool tables\, table tennis\, foosball\, PlayStation 5\, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The centre is also home to a professional digital recording studio\, providing aspiring musicians and creatives with access to quality equipment and opportunities to develop their skills. Passionate musicians can also perform on our fully equipped stage at Late Night Live\, a once-a-term live music night. \nThere are two Drop-In sessions tailored to different age groups: \n\n10-14 years: provides a fun and welcoming space for younger secondary school-aged young people to make friends\, enjoy activities\, build confidence and try new experiences.\n15-25 years: offers young people in this age group a relaxed environment to socialise\, unwind\, explore their interests and connect with others in a supportive setting.\n\nQualified Youth Workers are present at every session to provide support\, guidance and a friendly chat whenever needed. DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the Town of Victoria Park.\nFreestyle Now will be conducting FREE girls jam coaching sessions  at the McCallum Park Skatepark.\n\n\nThanks to the Town of Victoria Park. \nSession 1: 3pm \nSession 2: 4pm \nFreestyle now will be facilitating a fun and informative coaching session at McCallum Park Skatepark for girls 5-18+ who ride Skateboard\, Scooter\, BMX or Rollerskate. Our facilitators analyze the participants’ skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our coaches speak the participant’s language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay the importance of safety\, the importance of helmets and how they can minimize injuries. Freestyle Now team members will be present to offer participants technical advice\, trick tips\, skill development and skatepark etiquette. \nAll participants would need their own equipment\, helmet and closed in shoes. Participants with defective equipment may not be able to participate. DESCRIPTION:Set up in the Indoor 25m Pool\, this inflatable obstacle course is perfect for kids who love to move\, climb and explore. \nParticipants can run\, jump\, slide and balance their way through the course\, making it an exciting and active experience from start to finish.AQUAtron is best suited to children aged 6 to 12 years who are confident in the water. For safety\, all participants must be able to swim at least 10 metres unaided. Freestyle Now will be hosting a FREE Scooter\, Skateboard and BMX jam session at Cannington Skatepark.\n\n\nThanks to the City of Canning. \nCity of Canning Youth Workers will be activating basketball courts and running a BBQ alongside this! \nINFORMATION – Freestyle Now will be hosting a skateboard\, scooter and BMX coaching jam session. The session will be open to any participants in skateboard\, scooter\, BMX and Rollerskate who would like to increase their skill level and get advice on tricks. There will be mini challenges held during the session with lots of prizes to be given away. Participants can register for the sessions on line via the link below. Participants can also register on the day. \nThe jam session runs for 3 hours. Participants can come and go as they please. There is no groups allocated to Freestyle Now coaches in this session. It is an open session in relation to the coaching side. Mini challenges and fun skatepark games are the main focus. \nAt the beginning and end of the session Freestyle Now will host a skatepark information session the help educate participants and parents on all things related to skatepark use (etiquette\, safety\, equipment) \nThe workshop sessions would be open to any participant over the age of 6. \nFreestyle Now squad members would be present to offer participants technical advice\, trick tips\, skill development and skatepark etiquette. \nOur facilitators analyze the participant’s skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. Skills can be taught but confidence cannot. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our instructors speak the participant’s language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay this safety message to our participants and reiterate the importance of helmets and how they can minimize injuries. \nAll participants would need their own equipment and would also be required to wear a helmet and closed in shoes. Participants with defective equipment may not be able to participate. Our facilitators are not able to make major repairs to participants equipment during the session. \nParticipants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus. \nKey points \n• Coaching workshops are not suitable for 3 wheeled plastic scooters or street bicycles or mountain bikes – BMX bikes and 2 wheel scooters only! \n• Participants must be wearing a helmet \n• Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen \n• Participants must be over the age of 6 \n• Parents must stay on site if their child is under 12 \nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. The squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. All our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. Our workshops cover all aspects of the sports\, as well as equipment maintenance and personal safety issues. \nFreestyle Now hosts many coaching workshop sessions throughout the year for various local governments\, community organizations and private companies. \nFreestyle Now also can do private individualise coaching lessons. \nwww.freestylenow.net

SUMMARY:Build a Quenda Cabin at Piney Lakes (ages 7 - 12yrs)
DESCRIPTION:Join Nearer to Nature and quenda expert Dr Kenny Travouillon from the WA Museum for a fascinating exploration of one of Perth’s most iconic native marsupials\, the quenda (southern brown bandicoot). Through interactive activities and engaging discussions\, discover the secret lives of these remarkable animals and learn how you can get involved in the annual Quenda Count taking place in October. \nMake a real difference for local wildlife by helping to build quenda refuges\, known as “Quenda Cabins”\, which provide shelter from predators such as cats and foxes. Together\, we’ll construct two quenda cabins that will act as important stepping stones between fragmented habitats in Piney Lakes Reserve\, helping support local quenda populations while raising community awareness about their conservation. \nPlease note that this event is suitable for families with kids aged 7 to 12yrs. Please see below for information regarding expectations. \nThis is not a ‘drop and leave’ event. All people under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent/carer. Parents/carers are responsible for the safety and well-being of children at all times. \nWhat to expect \nLength \n2 hours \nStart time \nEvent activities will start on time\, but if you are running late\, you may still join. \nLocation \nInside EcoHub and out in the Piney Lakes Reserve. \nRequirements \nPlease bring weather appropriate clothing\, long pants\, long sleeves and closed shoes. \nType of event and expectations \nPrimary level classroom rules apply – Children should be capable of following instructions of program facilitator.
