Rather than running structured activities\, we will be offering access to the centre and a range of self-guided activities. Ride your bike\, bring your friends\, pack an afternoon snack or purchase from Twitchers coffee window. \n  \nEvery Wednesday after school we will be providing a range of self-guided nature-based experiences. Come and meet other families who are wild about the natural world. Activities will vary each week and may include: \n\nScooping for macro-invertebrates\nInvertebrate sifting\nWildlife surveys\nOrienteering\nNature art\nRehabilitation\nAnimal feeding\nNature walks\nEco-games\n\n  \nThe Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre will be open to the public for Wildlife Wednesdays during school terms from 3.00pm-5.00pm. DESCRIPTION:Free 2-Day School Holiday Program for young people aged 7 to 12 who are supporting a friend or family member with a mental health challenge.\n\n\nMindfulness Matters is a program designed for young people aged 7-12 supporting a loved one with mental health challenges. This program aims for young people to develop strategies and skills for managing wellbeing through mindfulness activities using art and crafts. DESCRIPTION:An exhibition by Richmind and other artists\, to promote the benefits of art for all our mental health. \nCreating Meaning \n✰ Opening Event ✰\nSunday\, 4 January\n2:00pm to 4.00pm \nAn exhibition by Richmind and other artists\, to promote the benefits of art for all our mental health and raise funds for Richmind WA’s Mental Health Services Art Therapy Program\, “HeART & Soul”.\n \nCurated by Richmind’s Principal Artist in Residence and “Creative Therapies Coordinator David Giles \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nThe HeART & Soul art project began as a simple distraction activity created to support people through the Christmas period\, a sometimes difficult and isolating time of year. The obvious benefits of meeting in a safe friendly supportive positive and encouraging space to create art\, led to the program becoming ongoing and a new focus of Richmind’s recovery approach and brand.\n \nThis exhibition celebrates the numerous and profound benefits art can have on our mental health and the amazing diversity of ways people can express themselves creatively to support their wellbeing.
