The obvious benefits of meeting in a safe friendly supportive positive and encouraging space to create art\, led to the program becoming ongoing and a new focus of Richmind’s recovery approach and brand.\n \nThis exhibition celebrates the numerous and profound benefits art can have on our mental health and the amazing diversity of ways people can express themselves creatively to support their wellbeing. Children will sketch\, experiment and invent their own mythical creatures\, from tiny winged fairies to mysterious beasties that might just live under the bed… \nBriony Stewart is known for her warm storytelling style\, whimsical art and ability to turn imagination into pictures that leap off the page. With her guidance\, participants will leave with new drawing skills\, original artwork and a head full of magical ideas. \nPerfect for fairy-believers\, creature-creators and kids who love drawing worlds that feel alive. ✨ \nThe workshop it is suitable for children aged 7+ years. \nPlease be advised that children under the age of 13 years are to be accompanied by an adult at this activity. \nIf you are unwell or cannot attend\, please contact the library as soon as you are able to allow someone else to take your place. \n  \nAbout Briony Stewart: \nBriony Stewart is the author and illustrator of several award-winning books for children\, including the ‘Kumiko and the Dragon’ series and ‘We Love You Magoo’ which was a CBCA Early Childhood Honour Book for 2020. Briony lectures on children’s literature at university and conducts talks and workshops with children across Australia. She loves live drawing challenges\, day dreaming and discussing dragons\, bunnies and how to tame lions. \nBook this event
