DESCRIPTION:As part of WA’s biggest celebration of Aboriginal art\, Revealed: New and Emerging WA Aboriginal Artists\, returns to Boorloo (Perth) with an eight-week exhibition at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA). \nMore than 100 Aboriginal artists\, representing 28 Aboriginal art centres\, as well as 10 independent artists\, have contributed a kaleidoscopic 185 artworks to this year’s exhibition\, curated by proud Whadjuk\, Balladong and Wilman Noongar artist and independent curator Zali Morgan. \nShowcasing the diversity\, depth and cultural strength of Aboriginal art practices\, Revealed transports audiences across the vast state of Western Australia—from the red dirt of the Kimberley to the towering forests of the South-West—with works spanning painting\, printmaking\, photography\, drawing\, sculpture and weaving. \nThe exhibition provides a major platform for Aboriginal artists\, most of whom are based in remote and regional communities\, to share their works with the wider public and derive a sustainable income to support themselves and their communities. \nVisit Website
