DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the City of Gosnells. Freestyle Now will be conducting FREE BMX coaching sessions at the Gosnells skatepark\n\n\nThanks to the City of Gosnells. Freestyle Now will be conducting FREE BMX coaching sessions at the Gosnells skatepark \nSession 1 – 3:00pm \nSession 2 – 4:00pm \nFreestyle Now squad members would be present to offer participants technical advice\, trick tips\, skill development and skatepark etiquette. \nEach coaching workshop session is 50 minutes in duration. Our facilitators analyze the participants skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. Skills can be taught but confidence cannot. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our instructors speak the participant’s language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay this safety message to our participants and reiterate the importance of helmets and how they can minimize injuries. \nParticipants are split up into groups based on their skills and or what is required to learn. \nAll participants would need their own equipment and would also be required to wear a helmet and closed in shoes. Participants with defective bikes may not be able to participate. Our facilitators are not able to make repairs to participants bikes during the coaching session. \nParticipants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus. \nKey points \n• BMX bikes only \n• Participants must be wearing a helmet \n• Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen \n• Parents must stay on site if their child is under 12 \n• Please arrive 15 minutes early to register your attendance \n• Disclaimer form will need to be signed on the day \nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. \nThe squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. \nAll our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. DESCRIPTION:Be scientists like Edison\, Curie\, or Darwin\, with a real scientist. Ask questions while conducting several small experiments.\n\n\nCome and explore the weird world of metals. We will be diving into chemistry and physics with various metals. \nThe core activities include metal etching\, creating tarnish/patina through corrosion\, and plating different metals. There will also be a few other small\, related experiments. \nThe aim is to bolster curiosity about science. As a final product\, we’ll create a small\, science-based tag or bookmark. \nLook out for a surprise event that will happen at the end! While it’s not related to metal\, it is definitely entertaining. \n\n\nRegister your interest. This event is open for young people aged 11-17yrs\, youth who do not meet the required age will have their ticket refunded. \nPlease ensure that you arrive 5 mins prior to the event start time to have your name marked off by one of the Youth Workers and bring your ticket with you (digital or QR code preferred). \nPlease note that food will not be provided during this event. Water is available however we do encourage you to bring your own water bottle and preferred snacks. \nDuty of Care: The City of Canning is committed to providing safe and supported environments where young people can feel welcome and thrive. DESCRIPTION:Spend quality time with your little ones and encourage their early literacy skills with songs and rhymes\, as the City of Armadale Libraries host weekly Rhyme Time sessions. \nThe rhythm and repetition of rhymes helps babies and children learn about words\, sounds and language. Bounce and sing along with your baby to some favourite nursery rhymes\, and learn some new tunes to entertain and educate your baby at home. \nSessions are suitable for babies aged zero to two years. Siblings are welcome. \nBookings are not required. \nChildcare centres and groups must contact the library beforehand if planning to attend. \nPlease leave prams at home when possible as space is limited.
