DESCRIPTION:Join us at the library to launch into learning! \nLearning Launchpad is a FREE early literacy program for children aged 3-5 years. Each week\, children and their parent/guardian participate in a variety of early literacy activities\, including shared reading\, literacy games\, pre-writing activities and more. \nThe sessions offer opportunities for reading\, singing\, talking\, writing and playing\, all designed to support your child’s early literacy learning journey. Throughout the program you will discover various strategies you can use to engage your child in early literacy learning at home to support them in their transition to school. \n\nBookings are not required for this program\, however space is limited and places are allocated via a token system. Please collect a token from the desk on arrival (first come\, first served).\nPlease note that children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.\n\nThis project has been supported by funding provided by the State Government of Western Australia\, through the State Library’s Better Beginnings program.

DESCRIPTION:Join us Wednesday afternoons between 3.00pm and 5.00pm for nature-rich STEM experiences at Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre. Just $5 entry per person and open to everyone! \n​ \nWe will introduce a different approach this term. Rather than running structured activities\, we will be offering access to the centre and a range of self-guided activities. Ride your bike\, bring your friends\, pack an afternoon snack or purchase from Twitchers coffee window. \n  \nEvery Wednesday after school we will be providing a range of self-guided nature-based experiences. Come and meet other families who are wild about the natural world. Freestyle Now will be conducting a FREE skatepark Jam session at the Amberton Beach skatepark.\n\n\nThanks to the City of Wanneroo. \nFreestyle Now will be hosting a FREE skatepark jam session at the Amberton Beach Skatepark for Skateboard\, scooter and BMX participants. Participants will be able to learn new tricks or get advice on tricks and gain new confidence levels but most of all everyone can have a stack of fun. The coaching jam sessions are more than just helping teach skills. These workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. The squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. All our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. Our workshops cover all aspects of the sports\, as well as equipment maintenance and personal safety issues. \nThroughout the skatepark jam session a variety of challenges will cater for all levels of abilities in Skateboard\, Scooter and BMX. This is a chance for participants to showcase their abilities amongst their peers and for the community to see the skatepark participants excelling in a positive way. Some of the types of challenges that might take place would include best trick\, longest manual\, best trick on a certain part of the skatepark\, most engaged rider\, best youngest rider\, etc. Prizes are given out to the winners of the challenges. \nAll equipment is checked prior to the participant’s involvement to make sure that it is in a safe condition and minor repairs or adjustments can be made if necessary. We do\, however\, reserve the right to not permit a participant to attend the workshop if we feel that their equipment does not meet safety requirements. \nKey points \n\nParticipants must be wearing a helmet\nPlease remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen\nRecommended for participants must be over the age of 6\nParents must stay on site if their child is under 12\nLimited spare scooters and skateboard may be available\nPlease arrive 15 minutes early to register your attendance\nDisclaimer form will need to be signed on the day\nCoaching workshops are not suitable for 3 wheeled plastic scooters or plastic rollers skates\n\nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. \nThe team members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. \nAll our coaches are very easy going and relate to the participants well.
