Guided by his sacred song\, Kooyar helps restore and heal Boordja (Country)\, sharing a story of the connection between people\, place and nature. \nProjected onto a water screen emerging from the Swan River\, the free experience – delivered in partnership with the Western Australian Government\, through DevelopmentWA and Tourism WA\, unfolds as a looping spectacle of light\, water and sound. Watch as black cockatoos awaken the wet seasons with the beat of their wings\, vibrant new growth bursts from the earth\, flames flicker across sun-scorched landscapes and birdsong fills the air. \nVisitors are invited to take a seat along the waterfront\, beneath the night sky\, and journey with Kooyar through a 20 minute looping show. \nBeyond the immersive water show\, visitors will encounter roving Karak (red-tailed black cockatoo) puppets as they weave through the space\, delighting audiences with playful interactions. Blending contemporary puppetry with public art\, the captivating performances bring visual storytelling to life for both the young and young at heart. \nLive performances from Indigenous dance group Corroboree For Life will also feature throughout the evening\, sharing First Nations culture and storytelling through dance\, music and traditional costume. With no set rules or instructions\, children are free to create\, experiment and explore\, making every play experience unique. \nAs well as being heaps of fun\, loose parts play encourages creativity and imagination while supporting problem-solving\, social interaction\, communication and physical development. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to learn through play\, work together and discover new possibilities. \nPlease note: Loose parts play is an outdoor activity and will not run during heavy rain.  \nFree self-guided activity suitable for all ages. If you love fantasy\, play Dungeons and Dragons (DnD)\, or just have a million story ideas\, then grab a friend and join us at the library. \nUsing coffee\, paint\, dice\, spray bottles and ink\, each participant will make their very own fantasy map. This will then be used as a tool to guide your fantasy-based creative writing. Get your quills ready… here be dragons! \nAll materials are provided\, just bring your creativity and enthusiasm! \nBookings are essential. DESCRIPTION:The Underground Drop-In (School Holidays) is a free\, welcoming space where young people aged 10–25 can relax\, connect with friends and enjoy a range of recreational activities in a safe and supportive environment. Whether you’re looking to play games\, socialise\, explore your creative interests or simply unwind\, The Underground offers opportunities to have fun\, build confidence and make new connections. \nYoung people can enjoy a variety of entertainment options\, including pool tables\, table tennis\, foosball\, PlayStation 5\, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The centre is also home to a professional digital recording studio\, providing aspiring musicians and creatives with access to quality equipment and opportunities to develop their skills. Passionate musicians can also perform on our fully equipped stage at Late Night Live\, a once-a-term live music night. \nThere are two Drop-In sessions tailored to different age groups: \n\n10-14 years: provides a fun and welcoming space for younger secondary school-aged young people to make friends\, enjoy activities\, build confidence and try new experiences.\n15-25 years: offers young people in this age group a relaxed environment to socialise\, unwind\, explore their interests and connect with others in a supportive setting.\n\nQualified Youth Workers are present at every session to provide support\, guidance and a friendly chat whenever needed. Light refreshments are provided and\, unless otherwise stated\, all activities are free to attend.
