DESCRIPTION:Treeson by Western Australian artist Sally Stoneman will be on display at the Rockingham Arts Centre from Wednesday 3 December to Sunday 21 December. Opening hours 10am – 12.30pm and 1pm – 4pm\, Wednesday to Sunday. \nTreeson is a collection of works\, including sculptures\, created over the last few years along with a new body of paintings and drawings. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce Chirriger Kwilla – An Exploration of Noongar Totems at the Zig Zag Gallery in Kalamunda. \n\nThis intergenerational exhibition brings together celebrated Noongar artist Peter Farmer Snr and his son Peter Farmer Jnr\, presenting new works on canvas created especially for this show. \nAt its heart are the artists’ deeply personal connections to their ancestral totems — the Chirriger (Blue Wren) and the Kwilla (Great White Shark) — alongside the element totem Kaarl (Fire). Totems are guides connecting us to culture\, language\, and lineage. \nThrough their art\, the Farmers invite audiences to reflect on the strength of Noongar identity and its evolving place within contemporary art today. \nThis exhibition is proudly supported by the WA Government’s Department of Creative Industries\, Tourism and Sport (CITS).

DESCRIPTION:The Fremantle Ports Swim Thru is a swim for everyone\, with three distances on offer to suit all abilities. Try our 1.6km\, 3.2km or 250m ‘Try It’ chaperoned swim\, perfect for newbies or parents and children.\nThe Fremantle Ports Swim Thru began in 1922 and was the first ocean-water swimming race in Western Australia. Believed to have been the longest ocean swimming race in Australia at the time\, earning the nickname “The Big Swim”. The first race was won by 14-year-old Maisie Boyle who\, to this day\, is the only female winner of the race. For her efforts\, Maisie won a teapot\, a replica of which sits atop the current trophy\, known as the Maisie Boyle trophy. She is also the inspiration for our logo\, which was designed by Jenny Kostner.
