DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the City of Gosnells. Freestyle Now will be conducting FREE BMX coaching sessions at the Thornlie skatepark\n\n\nThanks to the City of Gosnells. Freestyle Now will be conducting FREE BMX coaching sessions at the Thornlie skatepark \nSession 1 – 3:00pm \nSession 2 – 4:00pm \nFreestyle Now squad members would be present to offer participants technical advice\, trick tips\, skill development and skatepark etiquette. \nEach coaching workshop session is 50 minutes in duration. Our facilitators analyze the participants skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. Skills can be taught but confidence cannot. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our instructors speak the participant’s language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay this safety message to our participants and reiterate the importance of helmets and how they can minimize injuries. \nParticipants are split up into groups based on their skills and or what is required to learn. \nAll participants would need their own equipment and would also be required to wear a helmet and closed in shoes. Participants with defective bikes may not be able to participate. Our facilitators are not able to make repairs to participants bikes during the coaching session. \nParticipants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus. \nKey points \n• BMX bikes only \n• Participants must be wearing a helmet \n• Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen \n• Parents must stay on site if their child is under 12 \n• Please arrive 15 minutes early to register your attendance \n• Disclaimer form will need to be signed on the day \nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. \nThe squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. \nAll our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. DESCRIPTION:Rainbow Reads is a collaboration between Our Place and City of Swan Libraries. \nIt is a queer book club for LGBTQIA+SB young people aged 13 to 18. We will meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month at the Midland Library from 4:30 to 5:30pm. \nA new book will be chosen every month and we will have lots of time to dive deep into all things queer literature. \nWith a City of Swan Library Membership all books will be provided (starting with ebooks). Book club members do not need to bring anything along to the group\, a library staff member will facilitate discussion and some light snacks will be provided.  \nPlease book in as spaces are limited.\nThis program is suitable for LGBTQIA+SB young people aged 13 to 18 and is book club.  \nPhotography and videography may be taken at this event. Images and footage may be used by the City of Swan and event organisers for marketing and promotional purposes.
