DESCRIPTION:Froggy’s Fun on the Green is a free\, family-friendly mobile outdoor play session for Cockburn parents\, grandparents or carers with children aged 0 to 5 years. It offers fun activities for children and a chance for mums\, dads\, grandparents or carers to connect with others\, and also access information and support. \nTwo sessions are held per week during school terms. \nPlease note: \n\nNo bookings are required\, just sign in on the day so we can record attendance\nIf you arrive early (before 9am or 8.30am in Term 1) at the park\, use the playground until the session is set up\nDo not attend if you or your child is sick\nPlease help staff pack up after the session\nDo not bring dogs for safety reasons\nParents/carers are responsible for looking after their children at all times (please note there is a lake in Manning Park)\nPlease don’t take photos or videos of children who are not yours or who you are not caring for on the day.\nIn case of bad weather\, call 0467 713 447 to see if Froggy’s is going ahead\, but remember staff are busy setting up so cannot always respond immediately. DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the City of Mandurah\, Freestyle Now will be hosting a skatepark coaching jam  session at Mandurah skatepark.\n\n\nThanks to the City of Mandurah. \nMandurah skatepark skateboard\, scooter and BMX coaching jam session \nTIMES – 3pm – 6pm \nLOCATION – Mandurah skatepark\, Hall Park\, Halls Head\, WA\, 6210 \nINFORMATION – Freestyle Now will be hosting a skateboard\, scooter and BMX coaching jam session. The session will be open to any participants in skateboard\, scooters and BMX who would like to increase their skill level and get advice on tricks. There will be mini challenges held during the session with lots of prizes to be given away. Participants can register for the sessions on line via the link below. Participants can also register on the day if vacancies are available . All thanks to the City of Mandurah. \nThe jam session runs for 3 hours. Participants can come and go as they please. There is no groups allocated to Freestyle Now coaches in this session. It is an open session in relation to the coaching side. Mini challenges and fun skatepark games are the main focus. \nThe workshop sessions would be open to any participant over the age of 6. \nFreestyle Now squad members would be present to offer participants technical advice\, trick tips\, skill development and skatepark etiquette. \nOur facilitators analyze the participant’s skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. Skills can be taught but confidence cannot. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our instructors speak the participant’s language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay this safety message to our participants and reiterate the importance of helmets and how they can minimize injuries. \nAll participants would need their own equipment and would also be required to wear a helmet and closed in shoes. Participants with defective equipment may not be able to participate. Our facilitators are not able to make major repairs to participants equipment during the session. \nParticipants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus. \nKey points \n• Participants must be wearing a helmet \n• Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen \n• Participants must be over the age of 6 \n• Parents must stay on site if their child is under 12 \nFreestyle Now coaching workshops are fun\, informative and motivational. The squad members let the participants ride at their own level and encourage progression. All our instructors are very easy going and relate to the participants well. Our workshops cover all aspects of the sports\, as well as equipment maintenance and personal safety issues. \nFreestyle Now hosts many coaching workshop sessions throughout the year for various local governments\, community organizations and private companies. \nFreestyle Now also can do private individualise coaching lessons. \nwww.freestylenow.net

DESCRIPTION:An exhibition by Richmind and other artists\, to promote the benefits of art for all our mental health. \nCreating Meaning \n✰ Opening Event ✰\nSunday\, 4 January\n2:00pm to 4.00pm \nAn exhibition by Richmind and other artists\, to promote the benefits of art for all our mental health and raise funds for Richmind WA’s Mental Health Services Art Therapy Program\, “HeART & Soul”.\n \nCurated by Richmind’s Principal Artist in Residence and “Creative Therapies Coordinator David Giles \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\nThe HeART & Soul art project began as a simple distraction activity created to support people through the Christmas period\, a sometimes difficult and isolating time of year. The obvious benefits of meeting in a safe friendly supportive positive and encouraging space to create art\, led to the program becoming ongoing and a new focus of Richmind’s recovery approach and brand.\n \nThis exhibition celebrates the numerous and profound benefits art can have on our mental health and the amazing diversity of ways people can express themselves creatively to support their wellbeing. The brief for the artists was “What brings meaning to my life?”\n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \n40% of all sales donated to Richmind \nArt demos by David Giles at 11.00am on\n– Wednesday\, 7 January \n– Thursday\, 8 January \n– Friday\, 9 January \n– Wednesday\, 14 January \n– Thursday\, 15 January \n– Friday\, 16 January \n \nPainting as Therapy Workshops with David Giles\nSunday\, 4 January and Sunday\, 11 January  \n
