Having worked on over a dozen of published graphic novels and books\, as well as a suite of independently published comics and zines\, communicating with and evoking through pictures is Aśka’s jam. Aśka is also an active member of the Australian comics and children’s book communities\, she helps to organise creative events\, teaches\, and travels across the state and country\, bringing dynamic workshops and performances to people of all ages. Plus there will be Pizza served to participants! \nThis event is open for young people aged 13-17yrs\, youth who do not meet the required age will have their ticket refunded. \nPlease ensure that you arrive 5min before start bring your ticket and have your name marked off by one of the Youth Workers when you arrive. \nDuty of Care: The City of Canning is committed to providing safe and supported environments where young people can feel welcome and thrive. DESCRIPTION:Women 40 years and over with no symptoms are eligible for a free screening mammogram. \nBreast cancer is the most common life threatening cancer for women and 1 in 7 women in Australia will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. \nHaving a screening mammogram (breast x-ray) every two years significantly increases the chance of a woman surviving breast cancer and reduces the amount of treatment required. More than 75 per cent of breast cancers occur in women over the age of 50. Research shows that screening is most effective for this age group. \nBreastScreen WA’s Director Dr Emmeline Lee said screening mammography was the most effective method for early detection of breast cancer. \nScreening every two years is vitally important to increase the chance of a breast cancer being detected when it is too small to feel or be noticedFinding a cancer at this early stage often means that the breast cancer is small and more treatable. \nA free screening mammogram is one of the best things that women can do to look after their health. Breast screening saves lives and only takes 20 minutes. \nScreening mammograms may detect 70 to 90 per cent of breast cancers. \nDates may be subject to change. Come along to Mindeerup at South Perth Foreshore from Wednesday 28 January until Tuesday 3 February for free family fun activities\, activations and live entertainment.  \n\nSouthside Summer is part of FRINGE WORLD 2026\, Perth’s most popular annual festival. \nBring your family\, a picnic and rug\, and settle in for a beautiful sunset over the City. You’ll be accompanied by roving entertainment\, live music\, awe-inspiring circus shows\, hands-on circus workshops\, plus a chance to meet the performers! \nFrom 6pm you can take a seat\, relax and enjoy live entertainment from roving entertainers\, stilt walkers from Enchanted Stiltwalking & Perth Sax Rockers. \n\nRoll up! Roll up! At 6.45pm our headline performance and FRINGE WORLD award winner\, ZAP CIRCUS\, will entertain you with a live circus performance and workshop (on select nights). Workshops will run for approximately 30-60 minutes and the performances will run between 35-50 minutes.  \nPerformances are suitable for all ages. The event is free and no bookings are required.
